SPRING FLING 2007 AT WINTERGREEN - RESERVATIONS THREAD
UPDATE 5/2/07
IMPORTANT! The cutoff date for confirmation of reservations is APRIL 4. Unconfirmed rooms are going to be released that day.
The phone number to confirm your reservation at Wintergreen is 1(800)611-6888. Ask for the Group Reservations Department (between 9 am and 5 pm Monday-Friday). Our group code number is 40D2JK. Be sure to specify whether you want smoking or non-smoking and a bed size if it matters to you.
All reservations will be accompanied by a one-night deposit for room and tax. Deposits are refundable, less a $25 processing fee, provided Wintergreen receives notice of cancellation at least 14 days prior to arrival. Cancellations occurring within 14 days of arrival will forfeit deposit. Credit cards are charged at the time the reservation is made. I would also like all members to PM me your last name (info to remain private), so I can keep track of reservations. Also give me first names for you and/or your +1 if you don't see them below. Once you have confirmed your reservation with the resort, I'll add "confirmed" to your name. Thanks.
This event is limited to 44 cars. Because of the popularity of Spring Fling, priority will be given to Vintage members and active preVints (you know who you are).
We are on for Spring Fling in Wintergreen, VA at the beautiful Wintergreen Resort, May 4-6, 2007. As indicated previously, we are staying in the one-bedroom condos for $161 per night. This thread is for reservations only.
Wintergreen Resort has many amenities in addition to being in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with some very fun driving roads. The Activities thread is here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=402329. See the website at www.wintergreenresort.com for details about the resort as well as pics of the one-bedroom condos. I think this has the potential to be the best Fling yet!!
Here is a phone number you can give to those who may have to reach you at Wintergreen - (434)325-2200. Cell phone service is iffy. There are phones in the condos.

Marco, (and you other beer drinkers)
As an added incentive, The Stoney Creek Bar & Grill (just down the road from the lodge, but considered part of the resort) serves up a local brew on draft named Star Hill Amber. Admittedly, I am not much of a beer drinker (beer fills me up) but based on the Creemore that Marco saved for me at SF06 I think you beer drinkers will like this local brew. I had one with lunch when the Plant Pixie and I stopped there for lunch on Sunday, and really enjoyed it. BTW (for you know who) the price was right (considering the location) as well, only $3.23.
Nice bar area. But it is several miles down the mountain from the rooms. I think that we need to research the bar (which we did not) at the top of the mountain where the rooms are located. Perhaps Valentine is familiar with it?
After driving up and down the access road to the mountain In a perfect world, it would be just perfect if we could arrange for them to block it off and run a "hill climb" up the access road.
However as Valetine has stated: There are several roads in the area that even in an S one would be hard pressed to maintain the posted speed limit of 55 MPH. I have been on at least one of them (Nellysford runs, see my signature) and they are made for an S, as one cannot speed.
