Not to confuse but I have some questions on the SF locale possibilities. Ken has listed these choices for possible SF. BTW, I thought we were in MD next year??

Anyway the choices:

Lake George, NY
The Poconos, PA
Burlington, VT
Lake Geneva, NY
Marietta, OH

1. Lake George NY or Lake Geneva, NY, Burlington, VT all sound good. I would love to visit NY or see SF in New England, but given the weather in these areas would the event be planned towards the end of May, excluding Memorial Day weekend? Spring comes later to these parts.

PA? Not again, please. We've driven to PA way too many times.

Marietta, OH, the site of the Tomcatt run, sounds great as far as the roads, but it's too far for us for SF. Obviously, I realize the locale will not work for all.

So I need more info before I can vote. Not sure if anyone else does as well. Just tossing this out there.

Burlington VT would have to be in late May at the earliest, more like June, to ensure halfway reasonable weather.

First Choice: Lake George
Second Choice: Lake Geneva
Third Choice: Burlington, VT

Been to Pennsylvania too many times, and I don't find the Poconos to be interesting. Marietta is kind of far, and we've done it a couple of times.

Upstate NY and VT are beautiful.

I'm planning on mid to late June. To answer your (unasked) question, Lainey, it's time to go somewhere other than the mid-Atlantic region. We haven't been in the NE in some time so I feel it's time to go back there. I can understand the hesitancy to go to PA, I also agree that we've been there a couple of times too many lately and some other locale deserves our company. As the (early) sentiment seems to be anywhere buy PA, I'm going to remove that from the poll (unless someone really can make a case for going there).

Ken,

Did you consider Northern New Jersey? It's not PA, it's close enough for folks from Mid Atlantic, New England and Ohio. Northwest NJ is beautiful, the roads are good and part of the drive could go into New York State. Marriot Mahwah is a great hotel, and the weather gets nicer earlier in NJ. Chatterbox is a great lunch stop, Newark Airport is close for Patty (I could pick her up at the airport), New York City is just across the Hudson for anyone interested, I could lead a drive group, we could have a bar-be-que in my backyard on Sunday (and maybe a tech day as well)....I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

I agree with Rob's preferences. I love lakes so any lake is my first choice. I've never been to Vermont. Been to PA many times and also to Marietta. No more there, please. I don't drive too far, since I normally can find an airport within 2 hours of the hotel, but since I fly across the country always changing planes, I really want to see something new.

This country is just TOO BIG!!!!

Lake George 11:37 hours
The Poconos 9:26
Burlington, VT 13:19
Lake Geneva, NY 11:05
Marietta, OH - Too many thing's there already.....

Wherever it ends up... some people are going to have to drive a long way to get there....

For a long w/e.... 9 hours is just too long for us to drive on a Thursday and come home Sunday......

Maybe we take turns where it is at... but then for those who have supported SF over the years... might not be the best way to do it....

Kathy & I have only been to 3 SF's..... and would hate to miss one... but sh*t happens!
