...mix/meet...???
At Wintergreen, everyone was spread out in individual condo clusters....maybe 1-2 others nearby. Some liked the privacy....some others did not. I'm not sure anybody knew that the unit assignments would work in that fashion.... In most of the other gatherings that I've attended, everyone has resided in the same general area....leading to 'random encounters'

I like the idea of an "International" gathering, plus we could get some of that French-Canadian culture.

There's something, already in the works, around Green Mountain,in Vermont, for September, sometime, and Tadashi is already getting it organised.
Why don't we all join in,and make it big.???
...and Burlington,is nearly in ,my backyard...

Nice places that can provide 40 or more rooms is a big issue, which is why I limited Spring Fling to 40 cars. You have to plan far ahead (as I did with Wintergreen, especially) to assure you have a venue. Even a year ahead, I could not get enough rooms in Charlottesville, for example, to have it there. Many groups plan years in advance for their events. So that is the biggest hurdle to get over.

How about eastern Tennessee...anybody there? That's not too bad a drive for us. If anybody's up for North Texas, I'll put one together.

When I made some calls to hotels for the Fall Gathering in Gettysburg, some would not even agree to hold a block of rooms.

Also, I tried to stay in a Hampton Inn in Charlottesville during our VA road trip. I was calling six months in advance for ONE room and they were sold out. It could have been due to college graduations or something else, but it goes to show you have to plan in advance.

Levi has posted the link to the VT meet.

It's 9/15 and 9/16, being planned by Tadaschi/Ellen. She joined us in Gettysburg last fall.

As of now it's a small meet, (20 rooms blocked) but I exchanged PMs with Tadaschi, and if the some of Vintage crowd would like to attend, she can bump up the number of rooms.

If interested, let me know so I can advise Ellen.

Looks like we'll have plenty of opportunities to see one another. Rob's Gathering in NJ, Jonas' Tomcatt run (date to be announced), the VT meet, and who knows, maybe a meet somewhere over the Columbus Day weekend?

Does Niagra Falls (Ontario side) count?
The falls would be a cool place to go, even the Canadian side.

Important note: Passports will be required to go into Canada and back as of January 1st of 2008 for all forms of transportation.

Right now, the potential dates are Sept 22 or the 29th. It may change from those 2 dates, but they look the most likely as of now....
