Spring Fling 1-9 - A trip down memory lane
EDIT - I went back and found all the locations and dates for the previous flings. I was losing track! Here they are:
SF1 - 4/23-25/04 Baltimore/Buckeystown, MD
SF2 - 4/29-5/1/05 Berkeley Springs, WV
SF3 - 6/9-11/06 Watkins Glen, NY
SF4 - 5/4-6/07 Wintergreen, VA
SF5 - 5/2-4/08 Seven Springs, PA
SF6 - 5/8-10/09 Cape May, NJ
SF7 - 5/21-23/10 Cranberry Township, PA
SF8 - 5/13-15/11 Asheville, NC
SF9 - 5/18-20/12 Hagerstown/Antietam, MD
Many of us going to SF 2013 have memories of the previous ones. I certainly do. In case we don't have time to share all of them in person at this year's event, let's put some for posterity here. Post your favorite pics and give us your good stories. Here's a pic from the original Spring Fling in Buckeystown, MD (2004). Rick Hesel was the organizer. Wouldn't it be nice if he were to show up this year! It was Jonas' 40th birthday and his official initiation into this crazy group we call Vintage. Lots of water under the bridge for many, but that meet was the start of a fine Vintage tradition.
Carmen (OhioRacer), Val's +1 Jim, Yours Truly, Val (valentine), the Birthday Boy and his lovely +1, Virginija

^^^ Remember at Berkeley Springs Bill and Rob kept the group singing in the bar until far beyond closing time? But they indulged us! Hey, maybe we should have some handouts in Winchester for who don't remember the lyrics so exactly anymore.

I just tried to post some pics from SF 1, in 2004, but since I am using my iPad from a hotel room in NC, I became very frustrated with my fat fingers and decided to wait until I get home Tuesday to post them. Here is my favorite, in the meantime.
Oh, wait, here are a couple more:
It sure was a fun time!

Nice, Gene. I think that was the first pool party. Only Granny and I were in the pool, though. The pool at the hotel in Baltimore the night before the drive to Buckeystown. Carmen (OhioRacer) hung out with us for awhile - guy in yellow shirt above. There is the famous pic of the two spa yellow S2000s (Carmen's and Nick from NY's) on either side of matrix's (Marco's) Berlina. He made a little GIF (or whatever) to change the yellows to black. He had it in his sig. That was in the days of the Dark Side - Marco was constantly trying to win peeps over to the Dark (Berlina) Side. He had a running joke with me. I have that image, but I don't think mine works anymore. Anyone else have it? He's a guy I really miss. Another thing I remember about Val on the drive - she almost quit and went home to Lynchburg. She was mad that the drive took about two hours longer than it was supposed to (like about eight) and we hardly stopped at all. Anyhoo, I convinced her at the gas station to stick it out and she did. The rest is Vintage history!

^^ I was thinking about that the other day. OMG that drive down the gravel road, etc. almost did me in. My entire left leg went totally numb and I could hardly walk. There was another issue involving the need for relief that threatened as well and then we stopped at the dam with all that flowing WATER. Thanks to the pep talk from MsP we persevered and made it through and the weekend was a success.
I agree with Patty, we all look so young. Ahhh, youth!
