Default Spay or Neuter Your Pet

Hope this is not a repost. If it is please feel free to remove.

If you have not been motivated to spay or neuter you pet watch this short....you will change your mind

All of our Labs (all from the pound or rescue) have been neutered before we bring them home).

Having worked at a Vet as a part-time job in high school I know that the procedure takes < 5 minutes and the dog is up and around like nothing happened in a half hour.

I don't want to watch that video, but spayed all three of my dogs. One was from the animal shelter, which required it. The other two I did by choice. There are just too many unwanted pets in this country. Puppy mills are awful (not sure if this is what the video was about). Shocking, really.

^^ I tried to watch, but my heart wouldn't let me get past the first clip. I've spayed or neutered every dog or cat I've ever owned. My animals are as precious to me as family members. another thing a lot of people neglect to do is keep up with innoculations, heartworm meds and tick/flea protection. Even with the use of Frontline, two of my dogs contracted Lyme disease and had to go on antibiotics. If I didn't regularly take them in for annual physicals and bloodwork, it would have gone undetected. Don't get a pet if you're not going to take proper care of it.

We did not even consider not having Sydney or the original Maggie Mae spayed. It's like not wearing your seatbelt a no brainer

I have volunteered for animal shelters and animal rescue organizations for many years... there is NOTHING sadder than seeing a healthy animal euthanized because no one wants it

My mom works at a low cost spay neuter facility in northern VT. A new organization is opening another facility for this over the summer.

I have two male Jack Russel terriers. Neither has been neutered. They are healthy happy dogs who are confined to a 90 ft X 210 ft fenced yard, get their shots and visit a vet annually. They kill mice, rats, possums, cats, racoons, birds, moles, and snakes who come into their yard. Eddie is 9 years old, Amos is 8 years. They have no offspring.

The real problem is irresponsible owners who do not control their pets activity. Spaying or neutering is the answer for them.

I watched the video two times. My reaction is one of disgust and sadness, Gods creatures deserve a good home and responsible owners. Jay Weaver
