Okay, I'll give you that, the stimulus. I normally don't need it at all, but my life is very different now than it has been in many years, and I think I could almost use some city stimulation. Almost.

I have a friend who lives in Manhattan close to the UN. He uses taxis to get around there, and keeps his NSX and his and his wife's Harleys in NJ (he also has a 6 series BMW,
Dammit! ). For a country boy from the west, I do love the city, especially cities like NYC. Other cities in the US have greater traffic problems, I think, because they have neglected their public transportation systems in favor of more concrete. All you need is an easy path to get you out of the city onto some roads like Barry's, above!!

I am there Ralper. I miss the roads of my youth, where the only light was the night sky and your headlights. When you could drive and drive and not come on anyone else on the road, unless you went into town.
Now the sky has an orange yellow cast and you cannot see the stars for all the headlights coming at you. If you want to find a quiet dark road, you have to drive for hours to get there.
There was just something comfortable about being out there on your own, the solitude, the darkness, even if it was in a VW beetle.
It seems as I progressed and became more able to drive some of the toys I have owned, the roads that brought peace of mind are gone. Turned into busy thoroughfares, bustling with unsmilling people on there way to who knows where.
I appreciate all that a city has to offer, but there is nothing like being on a road with no residual illumination from nearby towns and the brightest thing you can see are the stars in the sky and the headlights of your own car.
