Sometimes I get so sick of the media

I was thinking of the Casey Anthony variety.

^ Her type is relatively rare compared to the other, at least in my neighborhood it seems. This was in my inbox this morning:
LAKELAND --
A Polk County church pastor arrested on five counts of sexual battery on a child will remain in custody.
Polk County Sheriff's detectives arrested Winter Haven resident Arnold Mathis, 40, on Saturday.
Mathis has a court-appointed attorney. He was scheduled to have a first appearance Sunday morning but they opted to have a bond hearing later in the week.
It's the fourth time in one week a church pastor has been arrested and charged with one or more child sex-related crimes in Polk County.

Well, At least portion of this sad saga is over.
Joe Paterno died this morning of lung cancer.
One can only wonder how much this story accelerated his demise.

I am sure he would have like to have died a few months earlier. I suspect events accelerated his passing. At least he did openly talk about the situation and admitted he did not know how to deal with it and turned it over to his superiors. Which I still maintain would be a normal reaction for most of us. Sure, in hind sight he wished he had done more.
RIP Joe.
RIP Joe.

I'm still of the opinion that the Football program at Penn State was the only thing that mattered to Joe P; all he did was cover his A$$, with the way he handled the Sandusky situation. However, I realize we don't get to be his judge and jury. At times, I'm not sure what I believe is out there once we leave this earth. Joe P's actions might now be judged by a higher power. IF there is a heaven, I don't think he's getting to the front of the line. He might have to spend some time in the locker room (also known as purgatory in the Catholic circles) before he gets in.

Agreed. How many football games have to be won to compensate for a raped child? How many for a dozen or more raped children? Good riddance to that immoral coward. I hope his passing was prolonged and excruciating.
