Default Some trivia for today

At 12 minutes past 11 this morning the date/time was 8-9-10 11:12.

On a completely unrelated note today was the anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki. This marks 65 years with no country nuking another. I applaud the restraint and good sense of all the nuclear powers on this achievement.

That is all.

Of course, at six minutes and seven seconds after five this morning, it was...

Oh, never mind.

But with respect to the other thing: the bomb designers at Los Alamos (the Los Alamites) were all quite proud of how the Mutual Assured Destruction deterrence strategy worked for all those years. Of course, there's no control experiment to compare it against, but it's hard to argue with that success.

Let's just hope that none of the crazies in those sandy countries on the other side of the world gets 'hold of a nuke. HPH

Certainly not all of them. But enough of them.

And I hope you're correct. There's plenty to go around already.

Maybe that wasn't all.

OK, all you trivia junkies - why was 8/7 an important anniversary date?

I went to write a check this AM and didn't know the date...that happens when you've been on vacation. I asked the date and was told 8-9-10.
