SoCal preference poll
I've been in SoCal for almost a week now and have been impressed with this part of the country. There are even some friendly folks like Spokes Man who made this offer earlier tday
How about you? What do you think about this filled part of the country
I could meet you after work around 5:30 tonight at Fuddrucker's on El Toro Rd in Lake Forest. The address is: 23621 El Toro Rd, El Toro (Lake Forest) CA

You know how I voted. It's the only place I've ever lived.

I've lived in SoCal for over 20 years, but still don't consider it "home." I made the "mistake" of living in Colorado before moving here, so you know how I voted too.
Generally, SoCal (Orange County) people are very unfriendly (with some exceptions), but I make it a point to speak to people I meet on my lunch-time walks, etc, and make them respond. It's sort of a game I play. Most SoCal residents are "wired" to their IPods, phones, etc, and are unaware of what's going on around them.
We only get rain during the winter, and have gotten over 14" so far this year. Our average yearly rainfall is around 9-10 inches. For the most part, SoCal is very beautiful and manicured. However, I prefer Northern Calif for the scenery and more seasonal weather.
Just my .02 worth.

I moved from the midwest to SoCal when I was 9. The day after I graduated from college, I moved to the Bay area. I liked SoCal but couldn't wait to get out. Too many people, too much congestion. And when I was a kid, there was so much smog you couldn't see very far or breathe very well on many days. (it's a whole lot better now)

I love it there and would move in a heartbeat. I've always been facsinated by it, ever since I was a little tyke growing up in W Pa. And all it took was one visit and I was hooked. But the +1 can't stand it. So for now, I just have to settle for periodic visits. Like one coming up in Sept.
