Coding this I'd do a case/when (years) statement, while the source is a little larger it produces nice compact executable code.

Agree, old system was better for many reasons. No clue why the current software isn’t capable of one star per year. Site overlords write/own the software so it’s not like they don’t know how it works or can’t change it.
