So, what are you doing this weekend?

Do a good job on that bathroom.
We're coming to Florida sometime in the late spring. We'll probably start at my mother's place in Sunrise, travel up to Orlando, and if the bathroom is finished we just may end up in Fruitland Park.

I'm installing the bead board and the green board today. I may take tomorrow off and take a drive to St. Augustine or something.

Between today and tomorrow I'm going to rearrange the area of my office where I have my networking equipment, moving the printer, re-routing cables and putting up shelves for the cable-modem, switches and wireless points. This is in advance of getting a new computer I'll be building up that will act as a server and training machine. The parts are on order and should arrive sometime next week, and I'm really looking forward to putting this beastie together.
This afternoon we're going to
to pick out a
which will most likely be joining our household very early in the new year.

Oh goodie! Another cool cat owner. I would say you'd better take and post lots of pictures, but I know you will without being told, Tomcatt. I was thinking of letting our unloved cat out and seeing if the coyotes or owls would get her so I could get another cat. <ducksandcovers> Only kidding!
Andy and I are going to our trailer at Kennedy Meadows today with our three doggies. I'm hoping there's snow since the snow level is supposed to be 6,000 ft and that's where the trailer is.

A brand new S and you're taking a truck to the snow??!!
The dragsters are in our back yard this w/e. Come on out to Pomona and fill your lungs with nitro-methane! (Fresh air is over-rated anyway... we've lived w/out it in LA for years )
I will admit I'm jealous of the kitty, but I'm sure Tom will share lots of pictures as s/he grows. RIGHT??!!
Have a great weekend all...

I've got a busy weekend planned so I REALLY shouldn't be spending time on the computer but I can't help it! I've got to clean my house, do my laundry, grocery shopping, wrap my nephews b'day present, get my mail, pay my bills, and clean the interior on my S and lexol the seats.
Brant I'm glad to hear your Dad is doing better best wishes .

I just installed my new computer, and set up the old one as my Internet server. I've brought most of the files over, but I'm not going to transfer my .pst file to the new Outlook. I have some corruption in the old one and I just don't want to bring that across. Of course that means that I have to redo all of my contacts manually. I love the new computer, but I hate redoing some of the files.
I've got the six computers here at home networked (hardwired) on a peer to peerand rearranging everything was a nightmare.

We just got back from
and saw several cute boys and girls. The blue girl was a little shy, while this brown guy
Buster
was all over us. We really want an "in-your-face" cat so the blue girl probably wouldn't work for us; plus she's going to be sort of small and we want a big-un. Buster might be spoken for though, we'll know around Thanksgiving or so. If we can't have him, this big guy
Trent
is the father of a yet-to-be-born litter. The pair in the past has produced a big boy, and maybe a small girl, and that's it, each time they were mated. Mom is due in a few days, and we're hoping she has one for us.
Here's another shot of Trent:
Honey Get Me a Beer
We met him while we were there. He's nearly 25 pounds, and stretches to roughly 4 feet. He is the most gentle animal ever, we were petting him and he just laid there eating it up. He's sired mostly large "mooses" as Kim and her husband call them, so we're hopeful of getting a monster.
We'll know more in a couple of weeks, but since they don't release kittens until they are 14 weeks we won't be having a new furball here until after the first of the year.

Maybe we should have a separate computer thread...
Why don't you start it?

Kind of a sad vintage moment today...
Most of you don't know who Jerry Tolliver is, but he's been a great drag racer for many years. After winning the first event this year, he's had a disastrous season. He needed a very strong finish at this final event this weekend to have any chance at retaining his sponsors (or attracting new ones) next year.
His qualifying runs had been terrible and coming into the final race of qualifying, he was dead last. He's usually pretty feisty in a situation like that, but he was strangely serene at lunch. He lined up for what might be the final run of his career and pulled off a beautifully controlled textbook run down the course.
My friends and I started high fiving each other on the sideline in celebration when we were cut short as his time flashed up on the scoreboard... .05 seconds too slow.
Despite a perfect effort, the car simply wasn't fast enough. He was out.
As the truck towed him past the stands towards the pits, he had the driver stop in front of the grandstand. He got out of the truck, smiled, and waved goodbye to the crowd. They responded with a rousing ovation. Standing only a few feet away, I could see him fighting back the tears as he waved once more and got back in the truck.
And another fine vintage athlete rode off into the sunset...
