Glad you're still here among us, Flats. Now if we could just hear from your statemate the G-man, we can rest easy.

Andy and I met some very nice people this weekend at the Irvine, CA Megameet IV. We stayed Friday and Saturday nights in a beautiful Embassy Suites in Irvine. We ended up driving to Big Bear, California on Saturday but it was kept a secret until that morning. Friday night there was a gathering at Hooters in Newport Beach. Twelve of us got into a limo for our transportation to and from. My first Hooters experience. There is way too much traffic down in Orange County. I enjoyed the people and the drive but I don't think I'd do the meet again, just because of all the traffic.

One of the really nice people we met works as a Honcho Engineer in Honda of America in Torrance, CA. He told us he regularly reads Tell Honda (and posts sometimes) and it IS of use to him and other Honda of America people. I tried to get him to come to the Vintage Owners but he says his boss has told him in the past that he spends too much time on the internet so he can't come in and play.

Saturday night's dinner was entirely paid for and hosted by the dealer, Honda World in Westminster, CA (where my 2005 Suzuka blue is coming from ). They cleared out their front show lot of new cars, so all the S2000s could park there, according to their color. They had enough raffle prizes so that every owner ended up with something.

Got sick, got better, got a saw, got some tree limbs off the trees, got some buddies together, got some time on the road in my S, got to the beach, got some baked scollops, got a nice view of the sunset over Boston, got a little cold on the ride back, got home, got to take out the trash, got time to post here. Gotta admit, I had a busy weekend.

Hey K, sounds like you had a great weekend too!

^ Yeah, Bill. One 23 year-old went off the side of the road <again > but he barely got a scratch. He told Andy and I that he knew it was going to keep going so as it jumped the berm he unhooked his seatbelt and opened the door and then rolled out. The car, a 2004 white one, ended up upsidedown stuffed into a tree.

I met a nice couple from Arizona and he talked a lot about Auto crossing and how he's getting his oil analyzed. I think he's very good at it. I told him there's a guy, Legal Bill, in the Vintage Forum that is into that too, and that he should come on in and meet you. Now I'm trying to find out his name because I don't have a clue.

[QUOTE=charlie,Mar 19 2004, 09:31 PM] Tommorow the 20th will mark 2 years to the day of my wifes liver transplant. We are thankfull everyday for the gift of life her cousin so unselfishly gave. Kristen risked her life by giving up 60% of her liver so my wife could have a second chance at life. On this anniversary we are attending a couple of Philadelphia Gift of Life Foundation functions trying to bring awareness to organ and tissue donation. Here are some pics of what the gift can do:

.....The Transplant service is gratifying but hectic.
Good to hear your 'tales from the trenches', Steve.....good things that you are doing.

I'm sure that charlie will be pleased to hear....he's a big supporter of organ transplants

And I thought that you just co-wrote research papers....

I copied a few pictures others posted in the Official Megameet Pictures thread so here they are. The first one is for all you men out there. Some of us met at Hooters in Newport Beach on Friday, Aug 20th.

This one was our first stop after we met in Moreno Valley at 6:30am, to find out where the secret destination would be. We were on our way to Big Bear Lake, in So Calif. Back Cracker, the organizer, (he's a chiro among other things), had us organized to drive with leaders by car color.

These next two are from August 21st, Saturday night. Honda World in Westminster, CA, hosted, at their expense, a Mexican dinner and even cleared out their front lot for all of us to park our S2000s in. The best part was when the Top Dog--Honda of America--Engineer (Kent) talked, and took questions and gave us <some> answers. He was very good at not knowing the answers to rumors, like, "Is the S2000 going to be discontinued in 2006 or 2007?" Andy and I sat with him and his friendly wife, Kathleen, at dinner and felt privileged. Don't think Vintage knows him but Hockey from San Diego and his girlfriend were really neat people we sat with and enjoyed talking to also.

Patty-

Yes, thanks for sharing! I've not seen such well orchestrated pics since the first Outer Banks run in spring 2002 (aerial photo of +50 S2000 on the deck of a ferry boat....silver on the left side/ colors on the right side).

I wonder if the Honda guest was "Woodwork" who spoke at FC....was it 03 or 02?
