We're hoping to finish the bedroom this weekend seeing as last weekend was mostly a bust, what with me out of commission most of the time and spending a fair piece of Sunday in the ER.
Tom

What happened? Are you O.K.?

^ So, some bad news gets balanced with some good, Rob.
Life is so funny like that. There's always some bad to go with the good, or, some good to go with the bad. Balance.

Have a great time this weekend Deb. Enjoy the meet. And the celebration.

Saturday, Andy and I are going to a dinner at a restaurant in Pasedena, in honor of the out-of-towners that will be going on Raptor's Angeles Crest Drive on Sunday. And Sunday will be the drive and then a BBQ at Raptor's house afterward. I will get to meet a bunch of S2ki folks I've been "talking" to for over a year. Brantshali is one of them, and Ratgirl.

We went to Malibu tonight for dinner at Moonshadows, in celebration of our 20th wedding anniversary today. It was great to see and hear the ocean waves but quite overpriced for the food. We took our two kids and the boyfriend and enjoyed their company.

Happy anniversary, Patty, good news, Rob -- TomC -- wha's up --- e.r.??? tell us!!! We're slated for a corvette run over the mountains this weekend -- haven't decided whether I'll ride shotgun with +1 or if I'll bring up the rear and take the S -- its been a long time since I had a really good drive, so . . . we'll see.

Happy Anniversary, Patty!!!

I fine now (FINE - Freaked out, Insecure, Neurotic and Emotional) but the weekend was quite unpleasant. I came home from work Thursday with what I thought was an itchy bug bite on my ankle. A rash started to spread on my hands that itched, and each rash "point" was extremelypainful. I went to the doc Friday morning, they thought it was contact dermititis, like what you get from poison ivy (which I wasn't near).

Friday and Saturday it continued to get worse covering my hands and forearms, feet and calves. Itched like the dickens, and to touch the skin was like rubbing acid on it.

Woke up Sunday with my hands swollen so bad the fingers could not be bent and itching so bad I wanted to cut them off, and still with the surface pain. Went to the ER where they came to the conclusion it was some sort of autoimmune reaction, probably viral. Doc left the exam room at one pont rubbing his chin and saying "Hmmm... interesting..."

Benadryl and a steroid administered via IV, mucho bloodwork done, and I was sent home early afternoon with prescriptions for an antihistamine for the itching and a strong Prednisone dosage. The meds helped, and Monday things were a fair piece better. It's all nearly gone, but the meds were totally messing up my system and head. Lots of disorientation and unsteadiness, bad heartburn and upset stomach, hard time concentrating, etc.

Since it's practically all gone I stopped the meds last night and today I feel MUCH much better. (fingers crossed)

Anyways, today is a good day, but the past week sucked big time...

Happy Anniversary Patty and Andy!

Still working on my moat....we have had 3 or 4 days of rain here, just after I dug the ditch for the retaining wall....I truly had a moat for a couple of days ...

Thanks all for the Happy Anniversarys.

Tom, I feel for you. I used to get the hives out of the blue and understand the helpless feeling of being unable to control your own body when you can't stop the itching and don't know what is causing it, and the doctors are not much help. (I never had it as bad as your reaction though. I haven't had them since I was put on thyroid meds.)
