Looks like fun, folks.

Remember to take lots of pics, as we will in Gettysburg.

We rented this little cabin for four days, so we're heading off early tomorrow morning.

I am driving up to D.C. tomorrow for Sunday's Army Ten Miler. I hope I survive.

I know you must be in shape or you wouldn't even attempt it, right? Good luck and please don't overdo it. We need you here. Sorry I won't be in town to cheer you on.

This is what I did weekend before last. Can't wait to do it again.

^That was fantastic! So, that is the infamous Dragon Run. Thank you for sharing that. How fast were you going?

Thank you for your concern. I am definitely not trying to kill myself. I just want to finish it for the experience. I am looking forward to it. Have a great time at "The Gathering."

^^^ Nice video. I made my first trip to The Dragon in August and was infected with the same "I can't wait to go back" affliction. So if you truly just can't wait, let me know. I think I could round up a few recruits from the Upstate to join in. I have no idea when it gets too cold up there, but I am told that it is really great after the Autumn colors have gone.

OK, so the itch got the better of me. The +1 and I went for a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway today, heading towards its southern end.

This is the famous "highest elevation" on the Parkway - 6053' MSL

We next stopped at the Water Rock Knob overlook. Great views of the higest peaks iin the Smokies. The information panel said "Deal's Gap - 43 miles." The distant pass in this photo is Deal's Gap. Hmmm, Deal's Gap -- start of The Dragon -- off we went.

So, about 90 minutes later we were on The Dragon! Made two runs, one of which was a clean, no traffic run, despite the fact that this was Bike Weekend up there.

What a day . . . 370 miles . . . almost 10 hours in the S. We had fun!

I was a little preoccupied with the road but my wife said she saw 80 at one point. That was on the infamous switchback. Probably just as well that i didn't know that at the time.
