So, what are you doing this weekend?

I returned from a business trip to France last night -- 18 hours of travel by the time you add all the connecting flights and layovers. But I managed to sleep until 5:30 this morning, which is pretty good considering the 6 hour time difference that I was adjusted to.
Daughter #1 arrives this evening to pick up her new '06 Civic and take it back to DC. Then, tomorrow, the +1 and I are on a bus trip to Atlanta to see the Falcons (2-1) take on the Cardinals (1-2). Nice way to unwind.

Well, the HVAC guy just left. My furnace has to be replaced, so Monday the specialists will be here to make their recommendations on the replacement model. I'm not surprised since the unit was pretty old and it needs to be done. It stays warm enough here for about another month yet before heat becomes mandatory, so they tell me they can have it installed and running in only a couple of days after I give the order, so I'm thinking the timing is decent. Now I'll just pull the S out of the garage and drive over to take care of few errands and I may never drive back.

Ouch! I need to have that done soon as well. I'm not looking forward to it or the extra expense of having to buy a wheelbarrow to get around.
Me, I figure you've dissected lots of things. I just wonder how it feels knowing you're going to be on the other end of the knife?

Late post after-the-fact... going (went) up to Tinley Park to see Roger Waters.
It was chilly (53 degrees) last night and damp. Just a little rain before the show but we were dressed and prepared for it. Ellen brought a tarp that we just pulled up over our heads when the rain came. Snuggled under the tarp in lawn chairs until it passed on.
Roger played over 2.5 hours and the second set after the intermission was DSOTM in its entirety! Closest thing to a Pink Floyd show I've been to. It was wonderful. Got home about 1:00am with the "amplifiers ringin' in my head."

My son says to tell you it sucks. He says it kind of like getting kicked in the nuts several times by a thick legged lesbian soft ball player wearing cleats.

I've never done much dissection that I recall. I've done a few sea turtle and dolphin necropsies, but they were already dead. I didn't kill 'em, honest.

I believe you on the turtles, but given your opinion of dolphins, would you agree to a poloygraph test on that statement?
