Saturday we are picking up an '06 RSX for our son. The guy I got my '05 Suzuka baby from now runs an Acura dealership and is taking care of us.

May be going up to Kennedy Meadows after that, for Saturday night.

^ Very , Morris...we went to a vineyard out in the Shenandoah last weekend. Doesn't compare to Napa of course. Passed a few others, also.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. Now that it is cooler here in Phoenix, we are bringing two of our three horses down from the mountains. I'm leaving my 4 YO up in the mountains as I have found someone to ride him over the winter while I am recuperating from shoulder surgery.

We are moving the older horses to a stable right around the corner from us. They don't need to be ridden three times a week like the youngster does. Anyway, I'm looking forward to having the horses so close - it will be the first time they close enough that I can go over and spoil them several times a day if I want to.

Sunday, we'll be spending time introducing the horses to the new environment, and setting up our space at the stables.

^ Good luck with the surgery...how long to recover?

The +1 is off to run his 20 miles this morning, while I work hard (HAHA) at cleaning the Perkymobile from last weekend's dirt. Gotta look nice for Gettysburg. The +1 is thinking of running another marathon in the next few months - deciding which one. Perhaps the Shamrock in Va Beach in March.

We are taking both S2000s up to Kennedy Meadows this afternoon, for the night. We'll be driving in the southern Sierra Nevadas up to about 9,000 ft, at Sherman Pass. Should be able to find some changing Aspen trees in the town of Quaking Aspen on the drive home, Sunday.

Waiting for the hvac guy to show up. Our furnace is malfunctioning and its beginning to get chilly. We can get by without it for a week or two, so figured now is a good time to get it completely serviced. Hope I don't need to replace it, but oh, well, its only $$.

^ I had to shell out the big bucks for a new compressor recently. On top of having the air blower/humidifier replaced when I bought the new condo. Lightning struck it or something (all the heat pumps/compressors are on the roof here).

I feel your pain. Oddly enough our compressor unit stopped working back in early summer (thankfully before the 100 deg heat wave hit). Apparently the bolts holding the fan broke off and the fan decided to launch itself and it broke the blades, subsequently the motor seized and we had to replace the fan motor and the fan. That was small potatoes compared to replacing the entire compressor which according to the repairman is still in good working order. Our furnace is a separate natural gas unit and is quite old, so it may have decided to give up the ghost. I've checked on units with its capacity and it doesn't look like we're looking at too much cost (less than $1k), but the labor and removal of the old unit will more than likely double that figure. I'd love to simply ditch our entire system and go with a heat pump because I like the cooler heat rather than forced hot air, but we'd need two heat pumps (one for upstairs and one for downstairs) and we'd get into the big bucks at that point, so I'll just replace the furnace if need be. I'm glad I decided to try it out this morning rather than wait for the colder temps since the house stays fairly warm until we get a big frost because we don't cover the windows and the sunshine really heats things up.

Taking care or our oldest who just had hernia surgery. Our house is ground level, his has lots of stairs. He has lots of visitors. He also brought 2 chihuahuas which my parrots love to taunt. Hopefully he feels well enough to go back to his place after the weekend.

We're starting to see some Canadian Michigan and Minnesota license plates. It must be starting to get cold in the great white North.

Just put the hard top on for the coming cold season. It was in the upper 40's last night and it's only 56 now. Today is the company picnic for Yoon-Hee so we're going off to that and shiver.
