Next Saturday evening Liz and I are going to my oldest and best friend's mother's 90th birthday party.

I met this friend in 1959 when his folks and my folks bought houses across the street from each other. We've been best friends since then. As you can imagine, I spent a good part of my youth in his house and he in mine. His mother was my "second" mother just as my mother was the same to him. Very little happened in either of our lives that our two mothers didn't know about. Now she's 90. What a nice milestone.

I got to meet Batguano and Dead Bird! So even if the Dragonball was *wayyy* too rainy, wasn't a complete loss. In fact, was a pretty darned good weekend.

On Saturday, we've offered to take our local S2K buddies and one Z buddy for a mystery ride. Back roads, cruising by cranberry bogs, apple orchards, that sort of thing.

It's not mapped out, but we drive these roads all the time. Expecting a small group so it won't be too hard to keep folks together. After that, dinner at a local restaurant that we've been frequenting for over 25 years. Should be fun.
