Krystal (our youngest) and her fiance Nick plus my nephew and four girls from Krystals Sigma, Sigma, Sigma planted a miniture crab apple tree in Tom's honor in our front yard today. The friends of Krystal wanted to give us something, but didn't want to just give a plant so they decided to buy and plant this tree for us.

It was fun seeing all these young people working together doing something special (and non of them had any experience planting ANYTHING before). I just hope the tree grows!

Hilly
Hilly,

Memorial trees/shrubs are a good thing. We received some flowering shrubs when Rick's Dad passed away. It's nice to see them bloom every spring.

Rick's Dad was an avid gardner, and he would appreciate that type of gesture.

This weekend I'm heading to NE Peeay on Friday afternoon for a gathering of the Mens Group at our church.....about 12 vintage friends getting together in two summer cottages high above the mighty Susquehanna River for a 36-hour getaway.....
Our weather was overcast for the Friday eve cocktails on the deck o'looking the river, but today was rainy for breakfast at the '52 Diner' in Falls, PA <mapquest> On the return drive on I-476 South the road was dry enough to 'blow out the cobwebs' for a brief +century Here's how the group that hung around the cottage passed the time after our extended brunch....

$170k....you think, Jim? I'd guess the median at about 1/2 of that for a full prof at an Ivy League school

I always wanted to learn to ride a motorcycle and finally, today being the third day, finished the beginner's class and received my card. It was a humbling experience. I think I got more than what I bargained for. The instructors were professional and very caring about everyone's safety. The course started on Friday and finished today. Out of 12 of us who started out, there were 9 in the end. We were all very happy for one another. Hopefully, we will ride safe and with fear that will help us stay alive into our eighties.

^Good going, Honda 367. I've been riding motorcycles longer than I've been driving cars, but I never took the safety class. I ride off-road mostly. Do you have a motorcycle or do you plan on buying one?
