I had forgotten about Baldy. Most folks hike up Mt. Megunticook because it's the highest one on the coast. Although, the view from any one of the three is spectacular, I think.

I'm going to dig up the Photos thread and post a couple others from the weekend.....

 

This coming weekend is our granddaughter's 5th birthday party. We love kiddie birthday parties.

We have a bit more planting to do, dinner with a friend, low key weekend. We must rest up for NEXT weekend's big activities at SF!

 

This weekend I'm heading to NE Peeay on Friday afternoon for a gathering of the Mens Group at our church.....about 12 vintage friends getting together in two summer cottages high above the mighty Susquehanna River for a 36-hour getaway.

We traditionally talk late into the night on Friday....then head out to a hearty breakfast at a local diner on Saturday. The river is about a mile wide at this spot.....sometimes slow/ sometimes fast; it's great for bird watching (eagles, osprey, various hawks, blue heron) and river tubing

I'll post some pics next week. This will be a WG warm-up for me.....traveling the same route for the first ~100 miles...

 

Cornell... they don't make colleges any more beautiful, but since I already posted a bunch of campus photos last year, I'll spare y'all.

How many schools have their own waterfall? Cornell has three!

It's definitely a bit more cost-effective as a tourist.

It cost about $170k total for her four years there; serious $$$ indeed. On the other hand, it may well have been the best four years of her life, and she's already got a terrific job as a result.

When I took her there back in '02 to start her freshman year, I knew I had brought her to a very special place. It's been worth every penny! (and it's cost me nearly every cent I had in savings and retirement) I think I'm going to miss the place nearly as much as she will.

My only regret is that in the four years she was there, I never managed to get in any track time at Watkins Glen. When y'all are there next week, please take one fast lap for ol' Drewchie.

It's Spring Picnic time for the donrockwell.com group. About 100 of our closest friends will gather at Fort Hunt Park and eat and BS most of the day Sunday. DR.com is a pretty interesting foodie group so there is going to be some pretty intereting food...don't think I'll be eating on Monday.

 

Things have finally calmed down, so I might have a weekend! I missed all the Memorial Day weekend pool and other stuff, so hope to get some sun/swimming in. Other than that, just hanging out and relaxing. TGIF, Y'all...
