Hi Tom. How's it going this time compared with the last round?
Hey Patty How ya doin'???

Chemo sucks bigtime. I'm getting through it though, had treatment #5 of 8 today, even though it was a modified treatment with only one of the drugs. I didn't get the other two because they are causing severe BM problems and the doc wants to give my system a chance to recover. I go tomorrow and Friday for IV rehydration fluids to help get my system back on track (like was done a couple of weeks ago).

We'll see what next week brings.

How was your weekend away with Andy? I'm looking forward to the end of March when we go to Florida, and of course SF06!!!

Hugs!!!

Sorry to hear that you're suffering some more. You sure have had so much of it.

We enjoyed Kennedy Meadows. We've had unseasonably warm weather for weeks, and although it was 20* on Friday night, it was a pleasant 65* on Saturday. (It's back to the normal cold now, though.) It was nice to get away. I've spent the last month worrying about my dad coming back here, and then getting everything ready for him. It's going as good as can be hoped for with him and his Alzheimer's.

Poor guy. On Monday, after going to the Dr. and then getting a chest X-ray, we went to Burger King. He went in the head and I was getting very worried when he didn't come out. I asked a man to just peek in the men's room and make sure no one was laying on the floor. He wasn't. So finally, after about 20 minutes, I opened the door and said, "Dad, are you alright?" He opens the stall door and comes out and says, "I can't get my pants unbuttoned!"

Poor guy, I know it's not funny but I can't stop laughing thinking about it.

^ I know what you mean. It's one of those times where one just has to laugh rather than cry. My dad didn't think it was funny, and when we got back to his place I took scissors and cut all the button holes a tad bigger on his pants.

Patty...There is a company called Bucks which sells clothing for people with dementia (Alzheimer's, etc). I can't remember if there are things in it for men - I got a couple of things for my aunt. You may want to talk to the caregivers at the facility and investigate something with Velcro tabs rather than buttons. He probably won't like it, but it will make everyone's life easier, including his.

As it turns out, the +1 and I will be celebrating both the sale of my condo and his divorce being final.

Congrats, MsP. TC, you're in my thoughts. Hoping the upcoming Fla trip will be a real boost for you!!! My daughter has the flu, so armed with four prescriptions, she's back home for a few days until she's better. +1 is better, but still at home, isn't up to going back to work yet. I'm a bit frazzled, but hanging in there and hoping my flu shot offers much needed protection. Sooooo, I guess I'll be hanging in there having a (hopefully) quiet weekend at home.

Well, I WAS going to make a quick trip to Kansas to pick up my new motorcycle, but our weather has turned to winter and I figure I'll spend the weekend either shoveling snow or looking out the window at it!!!

Thank you, Deb. I'll take a look and see if I can find it online.

My dad's divorce has also been in the works for about a year. I got him to sign papers yesterday and we are hoping it goes through this time. The ex wife, who walked out on my dad and didn't let anyone know, agrees to one thing and then when it's drawn up, the lawyers change it again and again.

Congratulations, Deb, on the sale of your condo and having your man be free and clear. That is great news.
