Well, on our way to NYC about an hour so into the trip, we stopped for breakfast. My SUV wouldn't start. Changed the battery and it still wouldn't start. Since today is Sunday, most shops are closed. Now, we are staying at Holiday Inn 70 miles into the trip, till tomorrow to fix my SUV that has been towed to a nearby service station. I think it is the starter. Fortunately, I brought my laptop so I can surf the web and watch the Cowboys game. What an adventure! Game is not looking too good.

^Now it is 35:0. I don't know if Dallas comeback is in order today. I doubt it. Oh, well. This is what I get for missing the Quantico Bowling today.

I am sure Bon Jovi was a smash!

We are going back to Rincon Beach just north of Ventura today, through Sunday. We left the motorhome there on Monday since it's first come first served. For a mere $20 per night, you get an ocean front space. Rain is supposed to come on Saturday, for New Year's Eve.

Looks like another fun weekend, Patty! The +1 and I are going to celebrate his new job (if the final contract comes through tomorrow), and ring in the New Year at the Officers Club at Ft Myer, a big five minutes away from my place. Dinner, breakfast and three dance bands playing in different rooms.

Then it's the biggest Redskins game of the year on Sunday against the Eagles - for a playoff spot. They win, they are in. It's even possible they could win the division, which is amazing. Doubt that will happen, but the team has really turned things around the past four weeks. Go Skins!!

I'm working this weekend so I'll probably be sleeping when the new year arrives.

We have a small gathering to attend on New Year's Eve. I don't even care if we stay out until midnight. Driving home on New Year's Eve me.

Outside of that, we'll be hanging around at home.

We'll be at home for the weekend, for the most part. We'll probably spend a couple of hours with all of the in-laws to ring in the new year (the traditional New Year celebration) but most of the time will be at home while I recuperate.

The +1 and I will be spending a large part of the weekend drinking some libation (champagne, wine) on the balcony of the new condo, looking at the gorgeous view of DC. Work is proceeding well - painting, etc. Carpet set for the end of Jan. After the move, it's party time, so anyone in/coming to the area after the middle of Feb, please PM me! Also have to put the current unit on the market at some point, so busy time coming up.

And, *last but not least*, Skins play the Seahawks on Sat afternoon. Woohoo!!

I had planned to spend a quiet weekend getting mentally in gear for my piano students (all 22 of them) to come back next week until one of my star students called and said he'd be auditioning for the band at one of the baddest high schools in the nation, DeMatha, and needed some help getting ready. So he'll be over all weekend and I'll be working around him getting ready for the others while he practices and learns the rest of "Moonlight Sonata." I'm so proud.

Deb, I can't wait to see that new view from your balcony. And this should be a doozy of a game tomorrow so I'll be watching that while the kid practices too. Go Skins!
