I hope no onoe thinks I was offended when I said I didn't know if i should post. It's just that a couple of you were having really difficult times and I'm doing well. it felt like I'd be gloating. Good ol' Catholic school upbringing, one should always feel guilty aboout everything, sort of like the Catholic parish in Lake Wobegone, Our Lady of Perpetual Guilt.

You should always post!! Besides your Catholic upbringing and feeling guilty doesn't hold a candle to my upbringing, nothing like a Jewish mother Remember, we invented the word guilt!

You should have both been raised as Baptists down here in the Bible belt then you'd know that we have the market cornered on guilt. I feel I should be falling to my knees repenting even as I type this.

Hey! I went to that school!

Oh, wait, it was Our Lady of Perpetual Help - OLPH, or Our Little Prison House to the students.

We had you guys beat. For us, growing up in the 50's and 60's, the "occasion of sin" was a sine. What is that, you say? Well. let's say you know the corner store sells adult magazines. And let's say you have been tempted by them in the past. Even if you had not given in yet, you might; therefore, if you were to go into that store, knowing you might face a temptation you might give in to, you were sinning.
If you looked at a person with lust on your mind, then you were guilty of the actual commission of the act. I remember those sermons quite well.

Ok I think I have all you beat. My parents were Jehovah's Witnesses and THEY have the maket cornered on guilt.....I was raised that way, could be why I am not handling this well at all....guilt, blame, false sense of how people should treat you etc....... It is all engrained in my head and I cant get it out.
