Thus, the idea to try to capture your thoughts on WHATEVER precipitation relates to your part of the country RIGHT NOW? For a lot of us, it's snow or its even worse liquid form: ICE BUT for Patty and other west coast friends, it might be the annual precip that is sorely missing thus far this year....both liquid and more solid forms.
Right now, we very badly need rain. 2013 was the driest year ever since they began keeping record of such things. That's more than a century! And we've had several dry years leading up to this point too. So we are in a bit of a hurt here on many levels. Look to prices of many items (mostly food) that comes out of CA to go up all across the country if rain dances don't start working here pretty soon.

While I don't enjoy having to drive in the rain (it's just annoying and unpleasant, you know?), I would not complain about it one bit because we so desperately need it. And the Sierras need snow! That is where we get our drinking water from and they aren't getting any snow up there. So, while you don't hear us complaining on a regular basis, the situation is pretty serious and severe here and I'm honestly kind of shocked they haven't been telling people to go easy on the water usage (shorter showers, cut back on watering, etc). I've been turning off water when I brush my teeth and stuff. I know it's only a little bit, but it adds up and ya gotta start somewhere, right?
Roseanne, I used to keep the shower running when I'd shave my legs. That's a lot of water down the drain. I quit doing that. It's nasty dry. Barely a green tinge out there. We aren't whining.

We set a record yesterday for rain - 1.5". That's a lot for one day. It wasn't snow, though. Rob and our other buddies north and west got the white stuff.

I love a fresh snow fall. If it is below 40 degrees, it had better be snowing. I don't care for cold without snow. Rain just plain sucks anytime.

It's liquid gold to me however as I get older I do think more and more about moving to a warmer climate.

I’ll admit that I like pleasant weather, however outside of the time required to clear my drive and walkways my life is not adversely affected by snow -- with the exception of longer commute times and changing into warmer clothing. My outdoor activities are simply altered for the conditions (i.e. snowmobiling vs. motorcycling, Snowshoeing vs. running, walking vs. cycling, etc.).

Oh…the S2000 remains garaged and the 4-Runner gets used instead – they’re both fun to drive, but in a different way.

Now, this is a reply about SNOW – ice and ice storms may be a different animal.

Another snowstorm coming tonight. 6 to 12 inches and this time with ice. I'm really ready for summer.
