They also have the best working hours. I don't think either one gets a lot of 1:30 AM calls from the ER.
And they have lots of repeat customers.

So, finally got in with the rheumatologist 2 weeks ago, did lots of blood work and got the results within a day or so. Follow up was this morning, Dr is putting me on methotrexate to see if it helps. Have to get blood drawn monthly to make sure it isn't causing any damage, but he thinks it's the best approach.

I hope you get some relief!

I have rheumatoid arthritis and am on Plaquenil and Enbrel self injections. They wanted me to start with methotrexate in 2009 (?) but told me I couldn't drink and I said nope, I will drink so that's not going to work.

I was back at my dermatologist on 9-4-2024 for my six month skin exam. I had one bump on my left calf that I thought could be a wart and I wanted him to check that out. He ended up taking a biopsy of it because he thought it might be a squamous cell cancer. It's grown since my last check-up. I had eight spots frozen. It's never fun but it sure beats having things cut out in a couple years.

Have to keep on top of this stuff. Rick had his exam in June and had three areas that need attention. Basal cell again. One on face, one on scalp one on leg. Plastic surgeon will deal with the ones on his face and scalp in two weeks. Dermatologist will take care of the one on his leg a week later. Nothing too extreme as far as removal.

The dermatologist must have already biopsied them to know they are basal cell. I'm wondering what they do with the face and scalp. Do they do Mohs surgery to get it all and then figure out how to make it look okay?

One spot frozen was just at the top of my right eyebrow. So far, my face has been spared cancers.

It's not Moh's surgery. The plastic surgeon will likely remove the lesion on his face the same way he did the one on the other side of his face...remove and pull back the skin a bit...you can't even see a scar from the last surgery he did. He called it a mini face lift. I guess same for scalp.

Earlier this year when Rick had the other basal cell removed from his face, the dermatologist gave him the option of a Moh's surgeon or the plastic surgeon. He went to the plastic surgeon. The same surgeon who had removed a lesion from his ear and did some grafting several years ago.

My dermatologist just called from the Atlanta airport. I guess he's on a trip. The biopsy on my left calf did come back as a squamous cell cancer so I'll be getting my second Mohs surgery of 2024. I'll be glad to get it removed.

Rick had his procedure done yesterday. I am amazed at how good the incision looks today. This plastic surgeon has mad sewing skills. There are sutures under the sutures, the top layer of them will dissolve but the incision already looks like a fine line. He sees the dermatologist next week for removal for one more basal cell on his leg. Rick worked at a local beach one summer....I'd bet the sunburns/skin damage of that year are a good part of what keeps showing up now.

Patricia, I sent you a pic. I know you like that stuff.

When is your appointment?
