Morgan has a kitty cold. Antibiotics to prevent secondary infection, which is what I expected. Liquid formula 2 x/day. We'll see how much of it I get into her and how much of it I end up wearing..... She has been sneezing less today than yesterday.

How's your experience going with Morgan's medicine?
It went poorly. I got maybe two doses into her and I quit. She'd see me coming and bolt, under the bed, under a couch, wherever she could hide. I put out some people tuna to see if she'd eat that, then I thought I'd put the liquid medication on the tuna, she never touched the tuna. I spent $8.00 on pill pockets to see if she'd eat one. I could have asked the vet for pills vs liquid. I gave her one she didn't touch it. She doesn't eat any canned cat food. If she were truly ill, she'd likely have to stay at an animal hospital, I can't see us putting her in a crate and scooping her out to give her meds. I doubt this cat will ever get a pill or meds administered by us. She stopped sneezing, her eyes looked better so we took the wait and see approach. If she had not looked better I would have called around for a vet who could give her an injection.
Although she will sit next to me and sometimes sleep on our bed, allows us to pet her, and I can scoop her up to put her in a crate, any human contact is on her terms. She'd better stay healthy. I don't have visions of ever giving this cat maintenance meds of any kind. She is a very skittish kitty, but a love in her own way.

I get it. I can get Talia to eat some wet food with powdered medicine mixed in for a few days and then she's on to me. She's the only one I've given medicine to.
We had to make the difficult decision to put down our friend Butterscotch. She was 18 years old, we rescued her as a kitten. My wife has been tending to her every need in past months due to her deteriorating health. My wife is devastated, it has been a rough day. But we know that we gave her everything she needed and she had a great life.
