I am going to have to start taking my phone with me when I go out with Roxy before bedtime. They say Australian Shepard's are herding dogs but I think I have a hunting dog. About a week ago she took off and before I knew it there was a opossum laying in the middle of the backyard playing dead. Roxy walked around it a couple times and I hollered to her to leave it . . . and she did . . . thankfully she normally minds well 99% of the time. Ok, I race in to get my phone for a photo but that's all it took opossum was gone. Tonight Roxy kept messing around the bird bath setup and I couldn't see a thing. I thought she was getting excited because a dying flower kept blowing in the breeze. Nope she had herself a tiny mouse. I finally saw it. It became real clear when it had no where to go and it was above a storm drain grill. Even I could see that. But Roxy was good and just watched it like a cat would a toy. We've had dogs for 50+ years but none like this one. She is special.

Cats don't watch mouses. I've picked up heads to prove it.

When i got home this afternoon i let Titan out he front door.
i had my arms full and never saw that rabbit by the front step.
Titan made one lunge and it was over.
Yup that little rabbit was about 15 feet away before Titan got down the two steps.

This is getting frustrating. Roxy has decided she is now a full time mouse hunter. We spent two hours restoring an area near a concrete slab. She managed to move a bucket load of river rocks, tear up the ground cover, and dig a really deep hole to get to the mice that apparently live under the slab. And she is trying to do the same thing by a patio slab. She doesn't even want to chase the ball anymore.

That's a hard one to solve.

Are you sure it's a mouse under there Dave?
In our previous house the black lab and Weimaraner, chewed through the back wall of the garage to get to the mouse/mice in the garage.
About 5 or 6 courses of cedar siding, vapor wrap and plywood.

She's going after what she wants.

Update on the mole score here. Rick 6, moles 0. Of course we have no idea how many moles are living in our "hood."

Tiger says "Bet you can't focus on me before I eat your phone."

Those who adopt pets from the animal shelter are invited to submit a photo of their pet for the annual calendar. Morgan’s photo was submitted. Picked up the calendar last week.
