Haha we're organic, and prefer "au naturel" breeding. I'll be really happy if I don't have to "get involved" in the process.

A long time ago, in 1982, I was on a company trip from San Diego, California to Baltimore, Maryland. After being worn to the bone with 3 weeks of 12 hour days, my coworkers and I drove to Atlantic City, New Jersey, before flying back to California. Along the drive to Atlantic City I saw a bull run and jump on the back of a cow. I'll never forget it.

Update on our dog-day-care experience. She was there two full days. In less than week she had a runny nose and sneezing; then the coughing started. Turns out she has a vary contagious upper respiratory infection. Today's vet bill was $160 for the three different meds and the visit. And she can't be around any other dogs. Its very likely her brother will soon get it as they have been together for the past couple days after the owners got back from two weeks in Canada (that's why we had to use the dog-day-care in the first place). We called the dog-day-care facility and alerted them ...

Dave, sorry to hear that Roxy is sick.

It is not canine distemper, is it?

Is it kennel cough? I've read posts on Nextdoor in Loveland that people's dogs were catching it at some doggy day cares.

I am guessing that kennel cough is more likely than canine distemper. Canine distemper just popped into my head because way back in 1968 to 1974, I worked in a veterinary diagnostic lab. My co-worker’s job was to test blood from pregnant female dogs to predict when to vaccinate her upcoming puppies for canine distemper.

No it is not. The vet said even with her having the Bordetella shot, your dog can still get it. But this is not what she has.

Sorry to hear that Dave. We've been taking our dog (two of them up until 2 years ago) several times a year for as long a 2 weeks and never had an issue with either of them getting sick.

I'd guess someone brought in a sick dog without saying anything to the staff.
