Well Dave that is one of those things I can't begin to comprehend.
How is Donna taking it?
It must be incredibly tough.
I'm guessing this is something she knew was coming?

Donna is a strong person. I don't think the full extent of the loss has hit her yet. I suspect it will really hit home tomorrow when we go to the barn to pick up all the supplies, blankets, etc. for Triton. Unlike our dogs I don't have any attachment to her horses. God knows she does, especially Triton which was her life long dream horse. After winning multiple ribbons from their first equestrian event I know she was living her dream from that point on until she could no longer ride him. Still the bond was always there.

It's always a hard decision. We have to remember we need to do what is best for them, when it is time. It can't be about us having more time with the animal.

I have posted before that my sister has been raising German Shepherds for 35+ years. She has a white male puppy and a couple of black and tan females for sale. Go to Big, Old Fashioned German Shepherds to take a look.

When I was a kid growing up in North Hollywood, a neighbor had a white German Shepherd, Cassius, who roamed the neighborhood getting everyone's love. He was the father of two litters from our dog, Cleo. He jumped fences with ease. That's why he was the neighborhood dog.
