Aww, kinda cute!
I have never minded having our cat on our bed at night. Morgan snuggles up right next to me. However, at bedtime, when I'm settling in, she decides it's time for a prolonged grooming session. The noise of it (not that it's loud) drives me nuts. I went to pet her last night to encourage her to settle down and she tried to take a swipe at me. She did settle down, but I didn't. I could not fall asleep. Got up twice, then headed to the guest room so I wouldn't keep Rick awake.
I won't make the effort to let Morgan know when it's bed time tonight. She can show up after I'm sleeping.
BTW, black pants and a cat with mostly white fur isn't a good combo.

I like people who have black cats, they often get the short end of the stick when it comes to adoption. Black cat lives matter too.

Atticus is a bit like a protective dog. He was my third choice the day I was at the Larimer Humane Society to adopt a black kitten. The one I went for got adopted before I could. I looked at another one that just didn't have much personality and I could see Atticus in his cage across the way. He was a naughty boy and he had to be separated from the other kittens because he was too aggressive. He didn't grow out of that. He's the kind that will put his big fat belly up to get a pet and then pull out the claws and kick and bite a bit. He's two years old now. He's my fatty Atty. Funny thing about him is that when he gets riled he's like a stegosaurus. He gets a ridge along his back. I'll have to add a picture when I get home.

I've never adopted a cat by color, though I thought I wanted to. Our first two cats were orange tabbys/tiger ish? One fluffy one not. One I chose from a box of kittens at a 4th of July parade, the other we found on the street. When both of them were gone we adopted Thelma. I had a black and white tuxedo cat in mind, (had one as a kid) but we read Thelma's bio and ended up with a tabby/tortie mix of some kind. When Thelma was gone, I was thinking gray cat. That didn't last long. We have to adopt the cat who has a story and needs "out" of the shelter. So we ended up with Morgan, the brown/black patch tabby with lots of white fur that is all over my black pants.
