Our dog had bad hips so the Vet gave us some dog aspirin and said to hide it in her food. We put it in a hot dog and the dog would eat the entire hot dog and the pill would be left in the dish After that my Dad would kind of force feed it to her which worked but we didn’t like doing it so we ended up crushing it up and sprinkling it in with her food which worked.

No. It will be a first. Roxy loves people. When it comes to other dogs it is a crap shoot. Some she kisses, some she lays on her back, and some she goes for their throat. . . especially if they grab a toy or bone of hers.

When I spoke to the vet the other day, I was told it's OK if she stopped the steroid pills without tapering down the dose. It's not like we had a choice here. . She stopped eating the pills/treat when we tried to add in Prozac. The vet does feel her issue may be behavioral and I would agree. The pills are chicken flavored, but I guess they are bitter. She has not taken one yet.

Her belly is looking like it's rather irritated. I don't think it's ever looked that bad. Maybe an allergy to the steroid pills? Sometimes that is countered with an injection of a steroid of a different type. I've got a call into the vet. She does have an appointment on 12/10, but if I can get her in sooner, with the doctor's OK, a tech could give her the shot.

I feel very bad for this kitty. Ordered a different flavored (third one) treat to see if we can tempt her to take the prozac pill.
Rick was able to get Morgan into her crate. I brought her in yesterday. My favorite tech was there. She gave her a steroid shot and trimmed her nails. I asked if I could leave her there overnight so the vet could check her over. Easier than taking her back for another visit. She's tough to get in the crate and gets car sick.

They kept her overnight and I got a call this AM. The doc does think her issue is psychological but mentioned we could also take her to a dermatologist. I don't see that happening....between getting her in the crate and being pretty much unable to get medications into her....

She did eat the new cat treat that is the Prozac in disguise. I'm hoping the steroid shot will help stop any itching and help clear the irritation she brings on with all the grooming, and keep things in check until the Prozac becomes effective. Still not sure this is the answer, (neither is the vet), but I am running out of ideas for this cat.......

In other news, I could not believe the bill! $52.00!!! They only charged me for the shot and a tech visit. The exam this AM was a courtesy exam and they didn't charge me for keeping her overnight. I was rather shocked by that!!

Cannot say enough about how much I enjoy this little fella. I almost never leave home without him and I love that he seems to really enjoy riding along with me. He gets all excited when he sees me preparing to go out and waits by the car door for me to put him in his car seat and fasten his seat belt.

^ Damn cute Jim. Sorry he is gone. My colleague at work has a black lab that she brings into the office regularly, I have a lot of fun wrestling the dog , having him fetch balls, and he loves tug of war. Such a nice breed.

Morgan continues to get the benefits of the cortisone shot, and it appears, grooming is minimal. She is taking her cat nip flavored prozac pill. It's too early to tell if it will ease the obsession with grooming, if that is her issue. I know pets are smarter than we think, and I'm pretty sure she is pi$$ed at me, since I left her at the vet's for an overnight.

Her favorite place is right near the heating vent in the living room. However, usually at night, she sits with me on my chair and comes to bed with me for a while. Nope, she is still avoiding me like the plague. I can entice her out of her spot for a little play session with her favorite cat toy, but after that she's back near the heater.

Wonder how long before she forgives me?
