To me she looks like she has some coon hound in her.

I haven't talked about my dog in some time. So here goes, Donna wasn't feeling too great today (sore throat, etc.) but still she walked the dog as she often does daily some 2 to 3 miles. Twice today. And, then she sat on the floor and tossed a toy as far as she could while we watched some football. So, I offered to take the dog out tonight to go potty. Am I good, or what? Don't answer. OMG I kid you not I tossed a ball non-stop-as-fast-as-could for about 60 - 70 feet until I couldn't do it any more. She would drop the ball at my feet and race back to catch it faster than I could bend over to toss it again. I keep thinking how the hell can a dog have that much energy? And, she doesn't just try to catch it, she loves to jump up and turn when she is catching it . . . like she is showing off. This is night. In the snow. Crazy. We have had dogs, cats, and horses but we have never had anything so smart and with so much energy as our mini Aussie.

This is a shot of her playing tug of war with a neighbors dog that is a little bigger.

Contemplating bringing Titan to the vet. He barfed on the hallway rug the other day.

Lordy, Lordy! One thing I do not miss about owning a bulldog is the toxic emissions! Sounds as if Titan ate something that his tummy is revolting against. I'd take him for a checkup now before the holidays cause closings. So sorry.

To my fellow cat owners: Today we took our 9-year-old cat, Daisy, to the vet's to have her first dental appointment ever. This was at the recommendation of our vet. The visit went well, though she is still groggy from the anesthesia and can't have any food until 8:00 tonight. (She is not happy about that!) They gave us a worse-case estimate of the cost from $1,000 to $1,200, but we went ahead with the procedure. As it turns out, it cost $750, including a $295 blood test. Does this seem reasonable?

BTW, this vet office is the most caring group of people I have ever seen. When a pet goes in for their final visit, they place a candle on the counter and request all the clients to respect the moment for the pat's owners.

When it comes to dental procedures and our pets, the cost is usually high. Yours seems a little on the higher side than what I see here, but my vet is extremely reasonable. Some of the veterinary clinics in the area charge about what you paid. My daughter just had both of her little chihuahuas in for dental cleaning, etc. and she paid a little over $450 each and the blood work was well over $200 each. She gets a bit of a discount because she's been a long time client and this vet has seen her dogs since birth. I'd say you came out about average.

Gene, we've only had a dental cleaning on one cat. Thelma. I believe there was some blood work along with the cleaning. I think the total was $500.00. Obviously different areas have different charges.

When our dog was with us, I got some dental tools from a friend, a retired dentist, and Xylie let me clean her teeth myself. Couldn't always do it in one sitting, as she got bored reading all the magazines in my waiting room. All true until after the word bored.

I've contemplated trying to do Titan's teeth with one of the old ultrasonic toothbrushes.
