Another "I swear they're our pets" photo,,,

We put the bull in with the cows this morning, after being isolated for 3 months while the calves had time to grow. He seems very happy to be back with them. Photo from a distance, because you really don't want to be close to a "happy" bull when there are cows in cycle.

L-R: Adeline (calf), Tiger (cow), Annabelle (calf), Nuboy (bull), Sweetcheeks (cow).

I bet my cows would have numbers.
Taking number 8 to the butcher would be a whole lot easier than Sammy the steer!

Our cat has been a real handful lately, getting into all kinds of places she hasn't been yet. She is 1.5 years old now, do cats have the terrible twos like Humans ? She makes us laugh though. Curiosity and cats.

Steers are in another paddock with the sheep, this is the "honeymoon suite." The calves are still on the teat so they're in with the cows too, but they're big enough now to be able to get out of the way if things get rough.

@valentine Don't worry, we'll only be eating the boys once they're older. They'll likely spend 9 months to a year with us before they're sold on, then at some point in the future we'll get a whole lot of packaged beef turn up. The girls will be kept for breeding and milking. We're starting our own herd from scratch so we know where they've been and how they've been treated. Sweetcheeks was 9 months old when she arrived, as was Nuboy (who's a year younger), while Tiger was just 3 months old. Annabelle and Adeline are all our work, with the assistance of a lovely yearling bull we grazed last year, so the next calves will be Nuboy's first lot. If that all makes sense...
