I'm 100% with you. I've believed that our souls live on after our bodies/shells die, for about 4 decades. I've been to group medium readings three or four times.

I really am not a cheerleader for mediums but I just can't deny our experience, it has been profoundly uplifting. That is exactly how we come out of our visits, it is just a very uplifting experience. I have felt the presence of my father a few times over the years, way before visiting the medium. My parents used to take us on road trips to Daytona Beach Florida for decades when me and my siblings were young. The first year I did the same road trip with my wife and young son I felt the presence of my deceased father as I was driving through the Tennessee mountains, it was a heavy presence that came over me, and for some reason I started to get tears in my eyes for no particular reason. You just know it when you feel it.

It doesn't hurt to think that you may seem them again some day. I never thought our pets could be in the same place as our deceased relatives and friends, but from what I've heard it could just be true.

I find this convo about mediums, the spirit world, etc. very interesting. I really do not know if I'd want to "visit" with those who've gone before, but I can say that after almost 10 months have passed since my +1 died, I feel his presence from time to time, especially in the early morning hours. It is not at all in conflict with my Catholic faith (Catholics believe we can pray to the dead) to believe we can communicate with those who've gone before and I frequently have conversations with loved ones who've passed on to a different plane of existence. It gives me comfort to know that our pets have gone to that same place. In my mind's eye I can see Jim with our beloved little BB who was his shadow. At times I suffer with serious depression since Jim's death and my little Ziggy has been very helpful in bringing me out of that dark hole. Amazingly he seems to have some of Jim's traits in his personality. Thanks Zeroptzero, for posting about your experiences.

Well for my wife and I it is just a very uplifting experience, and who doesn't need that these days. To be perfectly honest I never fully grieved my father's passing, despite it being 20 years ago, life was just too busy at the time. I think this is part of the grieving process for me. I was raised a Roman Catholic, and this experience doesn't conflict with what we believe, though I am not a strong church-goer. Feeling the presence of a loved one can be positive, it doesn't happen often for us, but the few times it has I have not doubted it at all, you just know it when it happens. I am glad to hear that this may bring some positive thoughts to you, all I can do is relay my experience, I don't mean to change anyone's opinion.

One more tid-bit of medium validation:
During our recent visit with the medium, she told us that we were looking at old birth certificates and old legal documents that resemble birth certificates. My father was giving her that vision. Well my wife and I have been discussing applying for Portuguese citizenship in recent months. To do that we have to get copies of birth certificates from my wife's parents who were born in Portugal and are living in Canada. They are 80 years old so their birth certificates are certainly "old". Today I had to help my sister and my mother with some family drama that my sister is dealing with relating to her son (this was what my brother-in-law and father mentioned during the medium visit too, my brother in-law stated that their son was bullying my sister). I came home this morning very frustrated from helping them with the family issue, and I told my wife to get started on that Portuguese citizenship right away, we need to move away from the drama.

My son's dog, Coconut passed away this morning. She had heart issue and had been taking medication for awhile. Her breathing seemed more labored this morning. She didn't want to eat any treats and I thought something was off. When she flopped down to the floor, my son and I frantically took her to the Vet and was put on oxygen but she expired. When the attendant brought her back in blanket, we knew. She was such a good dog. Our family is now in mourning. What a sad day.
