Nice memorial to the puppies. We have an area in our garden where the remains of two kitties are buried. I have garden stepping stones with their names on them.

I guess I was never attached to the physical remains aspect.

It was weird when we lost our first cat, it was a Sunday and we buried her in our yard I felt compelled to do something. When we lost the second cat, she was cremated, I wanted her remains and we buried those where the other cat was....Like people, I don't think they are there, but I like having a little memorial. However, I don't want one for myself, nor do I feel anything special if at the cemetery visiting the graves of family members. We tend to the graves, plant flowers, etc.
I've ordered many of the little garden stones for friends/family who have lost pets.

Deb, Donna won't let me get any hunting dogs that will chase the birds away, so I know that one won't work.We are considering a one year old Whippet & Staffordshire Terrier mix rescue dog, which would be a big change from our large dogs of the past.

^ That is a very strange mix! Is there a pic of the dog?

I don't how they figured what the mix is - it will be one of my first questions. Filling out the adoption form they asked more questions than the IRS; which I just sent off.
The rescue home had a video of her taking a walk and that's where I grabbed this photo. They speculate she was hit by a car and suffered pelvis fractures well before her first birthday. She was a stray that was rescued in Detroit and eventually ended up at a rescue home in Northville. Vets say everything has healed and although not in the correct positions, she is doing just fine. They estimate she's 1 year old and weighs just 36 pounds. Because of her past, we probably won't be able to use our underground electric fence until she is really comfortable here..... assuming we still want her after the meeting.
