He's not. I'm typing on my phone in the guest bedroom bed. I'm staying in this room tonight hoping that he'll relax a little bit feeling less alone. Talia also stayed in this room for about a week and I alternated nights in this bedroom and my own, just to help her feel more at home. Tomorrow will be one month since she moved in and she's doing very well now.

Patty with several cats, have you found that they find the need to mark their turf so to speak?

No, not these four. I think that can happen when you don't get a male neutered at a young age. I've never had marking happen but I have three early neutered males. The two from the shelter were neutered too early, probably, but that's the way it works. The Larimer Humane Society, and my guess is all shelters, don't let a cat or dog get adopted unless it's been fixed, and they are put up for adoption around 8 weeks old. I bought Talia and Zion from breeders and had them fixed when the vet recommended it. They are both over 6 years-old now and I don't remember how old they were at the time.

Oh, I had major success with Zion last night! When he decided to come out he kept coming out and meowing to get his head rubbed. He's a forceful one. He pushes hard and wants his face and forehead rubbed. I didn't get a good night of sleep but I did make him a lot happier.

Glad to hear that you were able to catch him. I'm sure he will settle in well.

Not yet. He will not come out from under the bed unless I'm sleeping in the bedroom with him. I'm not really surprised because when he was a kitten, when he should have been friendly, he stayed behind the washer and dryer for two weeks. He has never been anything but a skittish kitty. At least he's alive and in my house in Colorado. That's about all I can say for him right now.

For the cat owners. The vet read recently that dry food tends to linger on the teeth and most cats who eat dry food nibble on it often. Wet food does not do this. This is contrary to previous thinking where dry food was thought to help keep plaque off of the teeth. So we will leave less dry food in her bowl and give her more opportunity to eat canned food.

Patricia, glad you were able to get Zion into his carrier as planned. Let us know how he does with his "buddies" in CO.

Edit: We did spend less than originally quoted as no extractions were needed. Thelma is celebrating National Pet Day with clean teeth. She seems fine, already ate some soft food. Now to get some antibiotics into her......starting tomorrow. Got the liquid for that, and 2 pills for pain.
We just had one front canine tooth fall out from our 10 year old tabby - Hershey. We have our cats on dental food which is hard, and I guess it hasn't really helped like we thought. Hershey doesn't like to eat soft food, he has always preferred hard food.

This week my wife noticed his breathing is very laboured, so we are taking him into the vet tomorrow to see if anything is wrong with him. We are praying that he doesn't have any serious ailment, we rescued him 10 years ago during a road trip to the US and he has been the best cat ever.
