Thelma is friendly, on her terms. She sits on us (if you have a blanket on your lap), she approaches us for some petting and sleeps with us. Yet, of the three cats we've had, she is the least approachable. I would not want a cat that isn't friendly, or one feared would scratch my eyes out.

Dean, how is your area faring with the fires?

Fires are about 20 miles north of us. Smoke is in the air and we have been sneezing and blowing like crazy. We missed the one power outage Sunday as we were in Maui, but some areas are still dark. Even my sister up the the Sierra foothills has been without power since Sunday.
We went through no power for 3 days before our trip and lost everything in 2 refrigerators and freezers. Did not replace most of it since we were going away, so weren't concerned with power being off while we were gone.
It's beginning to feel like the state is going to burn up. This is 3 Octobers in a row there have been major fires due to major winds. It's always dry this time of year but when winds blow at hurricane force, all it takes is a spark. Are strong winds part of global warming? I have no idea.

I think I'll stay in the northeast and continue to take my chances with an occasional hurricane and a blizzard here and there.

My cat Baxter playing in the garland during his final Christmas festivities. He was a very intelligent and loving creature.

I suspect he couldn't one way or the other and was satisfied.

She has this guy, but he has a weird out-leaning front paw. This issue may be moot as SWMBO doesn't share my enthusiasm.
technically sh may just of the opposite polarity.
