I've not spent much time researching how to post images or I would gladly like to share one. On Dec. 27, 2015 we sadly had to make the hard choice to say goodbye to our 11-year-old Yellow Lab-mix, Bailey. She was a rescue (rescued us more like it) and she'd been with us since November 2007. Now, three weeks later and it is still harder to talk about that I thought.

She was mostly snow white, save for her ears, tail, and a faint strip down her back which were all very light tan in color - like the color of Bailey's Irish Cream. Thus the name. I'm not sure what the Lab was mixed with, but her coat was longer, thicker, and softer than any Lab I've ever seen.

She was our Princess, and things will never be the same.

I'm sorry about your dog. Always sad to lose a dearly loved pet. I've had a few myself.

^ Sorry for your loss. Been there; done that a few times. Our Golden is now 11 and we know our time with her is running out.

I like that screen name - oh not him again

First let me commend you on having rescued.
<---- that guy was a rescue, who got me through some tough times.

and yup it's an awful day when it comes time to say goodbye.
We too, have done so 3 times and each time was tough and Our hearts go out to you.
Give it some time and if you can, get back in the saddle.
There is another heart waiting to warm yours sitting in a shelter.

Sorry, Ohnothimagen.

Those who know, know it sucks.

Don't let it stop you from loving another,
as this would be contrary to one's overall wellbeing.

regards,
jagg.

here, have a Wilson photo to help ease the pain.

So sorry to hear this. Anyone who has ever had a pet understands how difficult it is to lose them.

We are cat people. When we lost one after 17 years, I really felt the need to have some sort of memorial. Weird, as I don't want one for myself. I got one of these for an area in a flower garden. Bought another when we lost another cat.

These folks do a great job of creating just what you want. My sister just lost a dog and we purchased a stone for her garden.

Here's the link in case you think something like this might bring you some comfort.

Our little 15 yr old maltese, BB is having a lot of health issues. She's become somewhat unpredictable so we can no longer let her sleep in our bedroom. She has issues with getting up/down and falls around a lot. We've had to put her bed in the laundry room and every single morning I find a bit of a mess to clean up. We do let her in the house with us during the day when we can watch her and so she gets her "people" time, but I can tell we're going to face a tough decision sooner rather than later. I cry a little bit every day and Jim simply cannot even discuss the issue. Alas, I've already begun to grieve. I feel your pain Ohnothimagen. You have my sympathy.
