I miss Jerry too. And sorry to hear Raymo say what he did.

Jim,

Please don't take this the wrong way -

But it is exactly this kind of drawn-out drama that makes Vintage a much less fun place than it used to be. Every other board I participate on has some rules about banning, and issues definite time periods, up to and including permanent.

You Mods do as you will (that's why they pay you the Big Bucks! ), but, were I in your shoes, I'd be inclined to allow him back with a *very* short leash, or announce his permanant ban and be done.

Dave

Jim, I'm confused -- didn't I see recent pas2k posts in Vintage/Politics threads quite recently? HPH

I also miss Jerry; he has been banned, for at least 30 days,or more...

Jim,in this Holidays period,it would be a good occasion,to give him a second chance,and allow him back,on certain conditions,ie:

"Avoid anti-social behavior on the vintage site."

I'm sure,Jerry will agree with those conditions.
Just check it out with him...

That's all I've got to say as I don't feel especially welcome around here anymore either.
I have no idea why you feel that way but I'm sorry that you do.

Maybe he's allowed in the Politics subforum but not the main Vintage Forum?

Howard, apparently that was a mistake in the permissions change that HondaGal made. She corrected it immediately when she saw that he was posting in Vintage Politics. She said, "Vintage is Vintage, Politics or Main".

Ahhhh -- so permissions apply to individual forums and so on, and it was possible to enforce a selective, partial ban. OK, got it.

My trouble is that I know just enough about these computer systems to be dangerous, I guess. HPH

Apparently he has been carrying on a frenzied lobbying activity behind the scenes with supporters in Vintage, and BN-ing HondaGal to get reinstated ASAP.

Just to set the record straight, I have been in contact with Jerry, on my own. We are friends. We PM or email, as we always have. I am the one who asked him what his status was. He didn't lobby me.
