This afternoon, the weather was cloudy and cool. Rick was content at home. I don't sit well. A quick text to a friend from the Y and she agreed to meet me downtown. I thought we'd stroll around the docks, maybe grab some photos. Weather took a turn on us, started to drizzle. After some walking where we didn't melt, we ducked into the ale house Rick and I enjoy. My friend had a beer (well, it was a Bud Light, not sure that counts), I had a diet Coke and we consumed some very tasty pub chips.

This retirement thing is not so bad.

Hopefully, between my AM class, the strolling downtown and the walking tomorrow at the Audubon facility, I won't have to head over to the "I'm fat" thread.
Make sure you stop by the Bookstore & Restaurant for some excellent oyster stew! Plus, a nice view to boot.

Thanks Gene. Fixed income. Bologna sandwiches.
We will check out the downtown area too. We've been in the area but have not stopped in the town. 64 degrees warming up to a nice day

Are you back at the same job, or with a new employer? Yes, retirement mode is preferable. You'll get there again!

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of work do you do?

When will you be starting at the new job?

No I dont mind at all. I do property maintenance and the last job I had Iwas doing maintenance at a boarding school. I've been working 2 or 3 jobs since I was about 12 so I've been slowing down as I get older and taking time to spend with family. I got some good advice from a coworker when i was in my teens which was to work hard when you are young so you dont have to when you are old.

Four friendly grandmothers are walking on the hurricane dike. A woman approaches with a baby in a carriage. You KNOW we have to peek in and oh and ah over the little one. Unfortunately, we were a bit much I guess, the little one's bottom lip started trembling, and he started crying. We felt so bad. We all have excellent references as Grandmas. Poor baby, we scared him.

These are the friendly grandmothers. Y ladies The one with gray hair now suffers from dementia. Every now and again I take her out to lunch. She always enjoys our outings. Today two other ladies joined in. What a gorgeous September day!
