Watching the usual Marine Corps Marathon chaos down below. The logistics for the race are insane. Cars like ants scurrying around trying to figure out where to go with road/ramp closures. Saw a couple of FBI agents. Not sure if they are looking for wanted runners…

On October 16, our granddaughter Josie had the bovine skin graft for the pressure ulcer on her heel.
On Thursday October 24, she had a followup appointment. The good news is that it is not infected and she can start driving. The bad news is at least two more weeks of non weight bearing, using crutches and a scooter.
This has been quite an ordeal for her since the original surgery on her foot was July 10.
She is in nursing school and also works as a mentor for other nursing students, so all of this has been difficult for her.
I asked her if the bovine skin stays on permanently or if it sloughs off as her body forms new healthy tissue underneath. She did not know.

Felt like real senior citizens. Rick had two doctor appts this week, and I have one, two if I count appt for Covid vaccine.
Rick got a cortisone shot in his foot yesterday, arthritis. He's had a lot of discomfort here and there, cramping our style/activities. He will also make sure he's not wearing beat up sneakers in the yard and either sneakers or slippers in the house. Old feet need support. Today he had to go back to the plastic surgeon. He was still having minor bleeding during the night from his scalp incision. Apparently, he still had a couple tiny stitches that were trying to make their way out and irritating his skin.
I had to have my BP medication adjusted so time for a re-check tomorrow.
Signs of the times in our world I guess, and most thankful all minor issues in the scheme of life.............
