I've been trying to think of a place to go/things to do for a little trip in honor of our 40th wedding anniversary and my 69th birthday. I keep coming up empty. I guess we have done all thing things we want to do in our radius of 4-5 hours.

Looked at light houses in CT, but most have to be viewed from a boat. That's OK, they have a nice boat tour, but not sure how to fill the remainder of our time there.

This AM I looked at an area in Maine to take a boat tour to view the puffins (cute little cute sea birds). Tours available don't really get close enough for a photo op. The ones that do are way up in Maine and are booked in January when the calendar opens up. We've been to various areas in Maine many times. The scenery is amazing, however it's not been that long since we were there. Maybe too soon to do a repeat trip. Then again, do I really want to spend close to $300.00/night for a Hampton Inn (that's mid week price) during tourist season?

I wish we were more spontaneous. We used to be......Back to the drawing board!

I was just talking with my friend yesterday who is my age about how we used to just do things ‘spur of the moment’ and never worried about what could go wrong. I guess it comes with age you start to plan more and prepare and worry about what could go wrong when planning trips etc.

You know, we could do that. However, we just aren't the kind of people who enjoy high end restaurants or appreciate fancy hotels. Though the P car may suggest otherwise, we just don't fit in with that crowd. For us, it seems like a silly way to spend $.

I'll think of something....

I don’t fit in with that crowd either but you don’t have to talk to the other patrons in the restaurant or hotel just talk to Rick screw everybody else

For our 40th 41st we and another couple took a train to Toronto and stayed at an upscale hotel which offered a package that included a chief making breakfast which was nice. Highlight for me was Hockey Hall of Fame.

If you see our Prime Minister Christopher Luxon there, say gidday for me.

I'm up for jury duty next week. Given it's a High Court case there's a very good chance it'll be something horrible involving gangs, so I haven't shaved for the past 6 weeks in order to "grow a disguise" just in case. Being a raging fireball of manly testosterone, I naturally shed most of the hair on my head a number of years ago, which meant yesterday I did something I haven't had to do since before the kids were born - I washed my hair.

It felt weird.
