Vito is running the Firecracker 5K for the Troops this morning out in Reston. And Arlington County and DC are under a boil water advisory. Not sure we have ever had one. High turbidity in the Potomac River.

Enjoying spending time with my youngest sister and my brother in law who are spending a month in the area from SC. We've had dinner with them, walked on the Harbor walk and they had dinner at our home last night. We will also see them today as wall as my local sister and brother in law, at a mutual friend's 4th of July gathering. We have played three games of cribbage. Anyone here still play cribbage? The guys have beat the girls 3-0. They ruled at pegging points.

Tomorrow the ladies will hit one store and the guys will tag along then off to a local brewery. How I wish they lived closer.

My oldest grandson just turned 28 and we celebrated his birthday today. Great time with him and his two brothers. Where was Lainey? I didn't remember to take a single picture all day. We even ended up playing Euchre and we - him and I - won the first game 10 to zero. That never happens; oh yeah, it does.

Big NATO summit here this week…reps from 37 countries. Gonna be pretty crazy. Vito working downtown today, then at home after that.

Just filled out a survey for the company and person who handles our IRA. We've been dealing with the same woman for years and have been very happy with her. The survey asked if we had any immediate financial needs, concerns, things to do. One of the question was asking if we were comfortable with our plans to transfer our wealth to our children. Our paperwork is in order. I just wish there would have been an option to check off "They can have what's left!."

Nephew and family are over Greece at the moment so almost to Amman…11 hr flight.

Went for a walk but the humidity is off the charts. Had to dry off. Indoor walking later. Walked past the garage up the street where the Secret Service keeps their cars. It is crazy right now. Their dispatch operation is set up outside. Not sure how many people per NATO country are here in the DC area, but if they average 300(?) per country (counting their own security, press and staff), there are at least 11,000 people for the three days. I’m sure they have taken over the Residence Inn next door and every other hotel on our side of the river.
