A quick job of tidying up the leak and button her back up.
I really believe she will be fine.
I really hope so, Jerry. She seems to be doing well, passed her swallow test so she can eat and drink normal foods and is walking about. I have no idea what plans she has for aftercare, but I'm so relieved she seems to be doing well. She is a very lovely and vibrant lady (a nurse) and has several children and grandchildren who adore her along with an older sister who can remember the day she was born.

Will not say anything political here, but we have gridlock on the roads for the morning commute. Demonstrations at several places leading into DC and downtown. It is a major mess. Looked down earlier and saw the most traffic not going anywhere in quite awhile. Glad I am not in it!

I really have to confess. Despite trying to be a gentlemen usually, underneath it all I really am a pig.

Had a surprise telephone call from my sister this morning! It was wonderful to hear her voice. She's doing very well and may be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. She does have a long road to recovery, but I'm thrilled with her progress.

Good news, Val! My sister has had a few better days. Much better than when we visited. Unfortunately, we know what her outcome will be. We are just hoping she can have some pleasant time until then and not endure pain.

In other breeze shooting....I'm always asking Rick if he needs anything if I'm headed out. He thought of a few things and made a list. Walgreens was where I would have headed. I decided to look online. I ordered the items, used a 30% off sitewide coupon and qualified for free home delivery. The items have already arrived. I placed the order right after lunch.

For more fun, I think I will see if I have all the info to do our taxes. I have done a quick run through. I withheld more $ than needed and a nice refund will help pay for some recent dental work Rick had done and the next phase of my implant which happens next week.

Donna did our taxes yesterday. Her first time. I've done them with TurboTax for the past 8 years and I thought it would be a good experience for her to try it. Both Fed and State have already been accepted. TT makes it easier every year with improvements. I had her do it 'old school' by typing in all the numbers for 1099's, etc. We could have just taken pictures of the forms with the iPhone but I wasn't ready to try that and this way she got to focus on each form, why we had, etc.

I did our taxes Saturday with TurboTax and e-filed both fed and state. Got a notice from my credit union that the fed refund will be deposited tomorrow. Now that’s fast! We owe the state $57, but they will have to wait until April for that.

I really like TurboTax since I can directly download all our IRA info from Merrill Lynch. Still have to manually enter the other 1099 data, but not a big deal.

Same here!

I count something like 17 different forms we get. SS, private pension, state pension, W2s, many 1099s, HSA distribution, bank, brokerage accounts, etc.

I have not checked carefully yet, but there are at least 5 that we have not gotten yet.

We often do not get the brokerage tax documents until end of February.

We have also learned not to file too early as we have received corrected documents as late as mid to late March. Heck, we have even received corrected statements as late as a year or more after we have filed the taxes!
