Today is the 60th anniversery of JFKs murder. I remember the day it happened and was in shock all weekend of the ensuing events that took place. We loved him but that family has had their share of tragedies. RIP.

Thank you, Ray. Her name is Lora and she came to me late in life so she's very special and is very close to me. I appreciate the prayers and the candle and I'm certain she does as well.

The loss of hair is always a tough one for cancer patients.

Our best to you both.
Lainey, Lora's dr was not encouraging about the effectiveness of the cold cap, but Lora was determined. It is not comfortable and some thinning is to be expected. However, Lora kept her hair and the loss was negligible. She is an advocate for the coldcapping and is SO happy that she kept her hair even though her oncologist told her she would lose it. She did not want to wear a wig (our climate is not a good one for such things) . Her oncologist is now recommending the cold cap for patients and the brand Lora wore is Paxman. I remember when Lora and I went to the oncologist the first time to discuss the chemo for her and if we hadn't mentioned the cold cap, we wouldn't have been told about it.

Val, my heart goes out to you and Lora. I truly hope that the chemo works and she is feeling better soon.

The running commentary about dental stuff got me thinking. Since I am still working, I still have dental insurance.
A few years ago I had a crown pop off and had to be re-glued. The dentist then gave a stupid pricing and I declined.
My current dentist mentioned the margins were a little dubious and suggested watching it. I nodded and agreed.
I was sitting home last week and with retirement sort of around the next bend light dawned on Marble head.
Gee dummy, when you retire you won't have dental insurance you'll get to pay for this out of pocket,
I go in on Monday.

My truck mechanic replaced a second leaking gas tank hose and didn’t charge me for his time . . said he should have caught it when he replaced the first one. I gave him money for his time anyways. Greenmachine is ready for winter and can be parked in the heated garage.

We helped our granddaughter with the purchase of her first car and repairs while she was in school. Need to show equal to the grandson. He has a vehicle, his parents declined our assistance. The grandson is in automotive at the local vocational school. Rick and I wonder if this will be something that he continues with. However, he will need tools. Placed a nice order for tools and a tool chest for him today. Just to get him started, and just because we wanted to. He's also got an extra set of rims for his car, snow tires won't be a bad idea..........

Nice, would definitely not be the worst thing in the world for him to decide to become an automotive tech he could make a good living doing it.
I used to enjoy buying tools for my nephew that was back in the day of shopping in person in the Sears tool department.
