I use Excel a lot. Started with Lotus 123 in DOS. I use it for historical analysis & forecasting.

Never used Lotus 123, I'm not a genius on Microsoft Word either. One thing I did learn was a mail merge.....that could be a PIA, but it was actually easier setting up the recipient list in Excel then working with Word for the letter being sent out. Used to use that once a year to send letters/storage contracts to the folks that stored their vessels at our facility. Every year was a bit of a challenge to remember how I did it the previous year.

C64 Basic was my starting point, on, well, a Commodore 64. Cut my professional teeth on COBOL85, and two proprietary languages - TAL (similar to C) and TACL (scripting language). Nowadays I just click buttons, tick boxes, and select from dropdown lists. Oh, and claim paychecks.

Great start to the weekend. Best weather ever to be driving top down to our best watering hole. This tree from the pub's deck fascinated me.
The photo just doesn't come close to capturing it. My bride's photo came out better along with our best friends.
And then we spent the rest of night (till 1AM) enjoying this and the stars and Pandora over a bluetooth speaker.

Thanks for the likes... we always avoid holiday travel whenever possible. Past experience reminds us how frustrating travel, driving or flying, can be over a holiday. It's much more relaxing to stay local. Plans for tonight are to drive 16 miles for some really good pizza in a small town pub. Its almost all woods to get there so its safer to drive the truck because the deer population is huge on the way there and back.

It's September and the hawk migration has started much to the chagrin of the local dove population. There are lots of hawks around here right now. Peregrines, Coopers Hawks, Red Tails, Sharp Shins. Short Tails, Kites. Seen them all.
It must be going to be a cold Winter up North.

Just finished cutting more branches for firewood. I don't like using a chain saw but my 16" Stihl does a good job. I'm always glad when I'm done using it!
