Good luck Dean.
You did just push the engineer's curiosity button. Now I have to go find out how they do it.

Engineer says neat. Relatively speaking it is non-invasive although I doubt you'll be awake during the procedure.
Banging a 180° turn ( the retrograde part) with the stent is a pretty cool trick. A special upside is the esophagus is huge compared to an artery.
Also not being coronary means there is really a rush to do things. Although I suspect it is actually a pretty quick procedure.
Additional reading for the interested student. https://www.cancercouncil.com.au/pan...rting-a-stent/
I'm guessing you will need to fast for a few days then clear liquids to clean up the workspace.
This I when I really wish I had pursued medicine as opposed to Engineering.

Jerry, it’s no food after nine the night before, and nothing at all for four hours before the procedure. They expect three hours with sedation similar to a colonoscopy. Can’t drive home, rest the rest of the day, then good to go.
Unfortunately, things are unclear now if I will have the ERCP procedure. I had a MRI Friday afternoon and it showed that the major ducts were not closed off, but that the tumor has invaded multiple areas of the liver ducts. I think that means there is no place to put a stent to work its magic. I had a call from my doctor I missed and he never called again like he said he would. So I’m in the dark until Monday morning when I can call the doc that was going to do the procedure and see if it has been cancelled. These things always happen on a weekend. Jeanne and I are very disappointed.

Well it’s still on. Finally talked to doc at 3:30. He says right lobe is trashed, my word, but he sees some places in left lobe he might get a stent to and give me some relief from jaundice. So we are getting up a Odarkthirty for an 8am check in, and we’ll see how he does.

Say "aaaaaaaah"
unfortunately it is all internal so you really don't have anything to watch. that would be cool.
Dean are there more symptoms that jaundice? i.e. pain?
