it could be worse! It could be “Here, hold my beer and watch this”.

My kids have both been driving the tractor for a couple of years now, which seemed like a great idea in getting them used to controlling a large chunk of metal. The tractor has a hydrostatic transmission, which means your speed is controlled by the pressure on the gas pedal. If you take your foot off the pedal, the tractor stops, so no issue with runaways.

Of course, they both moved on to driving Farmtruck around the property with this idea in their head, meaning both of them have managed to hit something when they took their foot off the gas and the car kept right on going. Farmtruck has two broken tail lights (taped back together), busted up front and rear bumpers, and a decent dent in the right rear quarter panel. I have new tail lights sitting on the workbench for when they're both proficient enough to not hit things, and the rest is just cosmetic. I'm just happy they can have all these bumps and scrapes around the property rather than out on the roads. My son has his learner's licence now and (so far) has avoided everything and everyone else.

Unrelated to you kids' driving experiences, did you get your mole checked out?

Found out that nephew and family are not moving overseas until next summer. Yay. Now we have our cute Posh and Sporty around for another year.

Not yet, it's stopped itching so disappeared from my thoughts. I'm your typical bloke, if I don't get it checked out it's fine, and if I ignore it then it'll go away. I might book in to get it checked once my wife is back to her normal routine, she's still helping with post-cyclone supply runs so I'm covering more bases around the property myself.

There doesn't seem to be a "rambling" thread in Vintage so I'll post this here:

Anyone know what's up with Valentine? She has not been online here since the 19th.

As has been said ‘may you live in interesting times’ I kind of feel we are. I don’t want to get political just curious about the logistics of the Secret Service handling the situation with the former President and a possible prison term. I don’t see how they could do it staying with him in an institution the logistics would be very difficult. I’m figuring they will decide home confinement would be more doable. Since this has never happened before is there a chance that he could lose the Secret Service detail and they just send him to prison or is the detail something that is mandatory for all former Presidents? Again just thought some of you may know and again not looking to make this political.
