That time is already here for me and I hate it. Having a bad back and a wanky knee makes me stay off even small step ladders. The biggest reason I'm iffy on putting up a Christmas tree is that I'll have to have help putting it up and taking it down. I utterly despise being dependent on ANYONE and slowly I've stopped doing things that I cannot do on my own. I love independence but unfortunately I'm not so independent any longer. Most of the time I wear a smart watch that will notify my daughter if I fall or have a medical emergency. Some days I rebel and don't wear the watch Life without risks is not fun.

Every time I do a project my Apple Watch keeps asking me if I have fallen. I guess it is not use to me actually doing something!

I put my lights on things I can reach without a ladder: bushes and my deck railing. It still hurts my back to bend over the railing to attach them with zip ties.

^11-28-2022. I just got them finished yesterday evening before the snow started last night.

A friend and I went to one of the smaller mansions in Bristol, RI, today, not far from the fancier digs in Newport RI. The mansion is decorated for the holiday. So I saw Christmas lights, and lots of trees. They even decorate the bathroom....Overall it's very well done.
I am not anywhere near proficient with indoor photography, but hey, I'll try. I brought my two camera bodies, an 18-200 lens and a 10-22 lens. Neither the cameras or the lenses are all that good in low light. So I took pics with flash, pics without, and can't say I had a whole lot of keepers. The light in the rooms is rather dim. Some rooms have lots of wood, so not bright enough. Yet many of the photos I took using the flash had ZERO merit. My friend posted one photo she took with her cell phone on FB. It was way better than anything I took. This photography hobby can be frustrating. I guess I'm just better off outside with my birds. But hey, we had a good day and a good lunch.
Here are a couple photos that I thought look OK in B&W. One of the residents of the home was quite an artist. I liked the art work at the base of the tree.

Cool pics.

My wife and I have always talked about going to visit the Biltmore Estate for Christmas , we've seen pictures of it and it looks really nice. We have visited the estate in summer months, but Christmas would be cool.

Joey, my wife and I and some friends visited there several years ago at Christmas. It was fabulous! I whole-heartedly recommend it.
Lainey's pictures reminded me of Biltmore.

They aren't as elaborate, but several of the mansions in Newport, RI are decked out for the holidays. A shorter trip!

Ah nice to hear, yeah I just know my wife would love it. We really need to make that trip as it has been on our bucket list for a while now. Thanks Gene.
