I do the automatic no-touch washes as they have an under-car spray. The big will-nots and must-hangs that form behind each wheel well blast away nicely during each wash. After one winter season my brake calipers have not oxidized yet, so that is a good sign.

Shopping at the ATM and buying gift cards as Christmas gifts isn't fun at all, however the grandkids are at an age when they know what they want, and whatever I'd select won't be it. Gift cards and cash make it easy, however, for someone who lacks Christmas spirit already, that kind of shopping doesn't help. No surprises, no happy little faces. I was telling Rick I miss having little ones around. My great niece and nephew in NY have everything they need/want, and I usually send my nephew some $ and they plan a special trip with the kids from us. Different zoo, or whatever. Anyway, Rick suggested a Hess truck for the little guy who is three. I texted his Mom a pic and she said the little guy would love it. So we will contribute to the pile of toys, and I'll still send a little something for a trip to a different zoo. Christmas is for kids!

Nice choice Lainey, I used to get Hess trucks when I was a kid and loved them.
I was wondering how many people out in the world still go to actual stores on Black Friday, I see that stores were advertising that they would be open longer hours on black friday and having special in store discounts.

Our local mall was pretty packed this week and we don't even have a small portion of the big sales that they do in the USA. I was driving by our mall last night and I asked my wife who still shops at malls ? , apparently many people still do.

The mall we have here no one local can afford anything in the stores that they have it is geared towards the tourists. It's referred to as The Crystal Palace.

It has been said that couples that are together for a long time start to look alike. I hate to see Donna if she gets fat and bald. But I appreciate her more every day.

Since the ankle surgery there are way too many things I used to take for granted. We decided since we lost much of our privacy woods at the back of the house it would be nice to put up blinds in the main bathroom. SIL’s mother wasn’t thrilled on her last visit, and tried hanging towels, and she’s coming up for Xmas.

Not a big project. Instructions say 30 minutes. I can’t stand on a ladder for any time thanks to my new ankle. I tried using a extra wide step ladder but I can’t risk even that without something solid nearby to hold on to. Try as I might. So I’m trying to guide Donna on where and how to drill the pilot holes . . . . but she didn’t drill in deep enough . . . and so it went, she trying her best and me trying my best. Finally I settled on a good sturdy kitchen chair being my best friend provided I placed it so the support was on the same side as my no-bend ankle.

She had drilled two of the holes at angle and I managed to measure wrong for the top hangers. What a team. Of course the instructions were not clear and the artwork showed a different shaped hanger then was in the package.

So in maybe an hour and half we got the 30 minute project done.

We were both finally smiling. OMG we looked alike!

Dave
I know it is coming but I hate to think about the things I can't do anymore.
and the thought of having a bigger chest than my wife has me terrified.

Jeanne and I put together a six foot metal shelving unit yesterday. We are still speaking to each other.
