Yes, there are people who can advise you on this. We chose to stay with traditional Medicare, and a supplement, AND a drug supplement. I don't want to deal with the Advantage plans, the co-pays, and the referrals. Right now, I'm sure I'm spending more than I actually need to, but I've had enough of asking permission to see a specialist, and want the freedom to see whatever provider we choose (as long as the provider accepts Medicare). On the plus side there is this: The law includes a $2000 out-of-pocket spending cap on prescription drugs for Medicare beneficiaries. It takes effect in 2025. Previously, people on Medicare had to spend about $7,000 out of pocket on their prescriptions before qualifying for "catastrophic coverage," according to Medicare's website.

Same; it amazes me. And I get to carry over $ every year to add to the new $ available.

Yes. Generic drugs no problem. Brand name or meds for which you need approval another issue. I need to get my inhaler refilled. Thats over $100.00
I've been looking at plans to see if I could find something better. The deductible on many now exceeds $500.00. The fine print will tell you which tier will be subject to that deductible. Co pays vary from company to company and plan to plan. Some cover nothing until you pay that deductible. Not a big deal if you only take generics. Insurance is a bet.

We selected Medigap plans over Advantage plans for the same reason - use who you want even if the premiums are higher.
As for scripts ours have no co-pay on tier 1 or 2. Annual deductible for tier 3 or 4 is $505 for 2023.

Ahhh the benefit that keeps on giving. We don't have that.

Correction on inhaler price $149.00 I'm going to over on the other side of the border where Emil lives.

Wow! I live in a suburb of the number one spot! Something to be proud of!

Maybe because of the students at THE Ohio State University. Our granddaughter just started there. I will be sure to make note of her language.

Sue, I already give Caroline the "look" last weekend while she stop by the house. She apologized for her choice of words before she left.
